I think when it comes to Korra and her opponents it is important to remember that she is very strong but she also doesn't seem to have access to the avatar state yet or airbending. Even Aang wasn't always completely overpowering every opponent. Without the avatar state she is just a person who can bend multiple elements and while she is great, is it possible for her to ever be as good with one of them as someone who puts all their focus on one? I think waterbending is the exception for her because she was a waterbender first.

Awesome video as always, just a note though I found the volume levels of you guys talking and the show were really uneven and I kept adjusting the volume. Hope you and your family are doing okay!

Thanks for the feedback! I did a new style for our voices this week, so we should sound better, but I neglected the show audio. Will be more level next timen

I also think it’s the style difference. Korra’s bending style is very aggressive and I’m guessing a lot of the techniques Korra leans into wouldn’t be allowed in a match, such as the time limit on waterbending. They’ve been using this style much longer and so the focus on quick attacks that leave your opponent off guard means that in a way power is less valuable than skill in the arena.
