The real controversy with Amber comes from was the way she acted at the college. If she knew he was Invincible, she knew he didnt run but instead risked his life to save her and William. But she acted as though he had fled like a coward, and accused him of running away and abandoning her. And that's just a lie. A total manipulation, and very weird for her to treat that as the final straw if she already figured it out weeks ago." If they had cut that, or been smarter with the dialogue so that she hints at knowing, or structure her words so that she only brings up his lying, it could work. But I think that scene in Episode 6 was written at a different time than this confession scene, and they didn't think about how that would look. Plus, it means she's mad at Mark for missing dates in order to SAVE LIVES. Amber wouldn't do well dating a first responder.
