Agent 7!?!

I love this mha content it’s so great

Kilonzo

Haha i’m not sure it was all eri changing the future, Dekus upper limits are quite absurd in how he affects the world around him and as eraser said not many people(essentially no one besides deku could actually do that and think about a solution that quick). But you may be right 😂

H-Bomb 24

RIP Nighteye. 😔 He's kind of the first character death we get in the show, isn't he? Side note: I can't help but see some tragic and poetic irony that the man who could see forward died saving the little girl who could turn things back.

Justin Johnson

Man, I forgot how sad the ending to this episode is.

MossyCastle

The "convergence of thoughts" thing in MHA is a really cute idea throughout the story ngl

H-Bomb 24

As awful as what happens to Overhaul is, he does deserve it.

Scar

I get Montana's point about shaking hands but lets remember the first time we saw someone get shot with the bullet it was by a villain shown to have reallyyy shaky hands

Jinchuriki87

Kenny "that's like our first hero death" Sand hero who died literally minutes ago "am I a joke to you?!" 🤣🤣🤣

Gravy 714

it always makes me happy when people bring up the animators, usually the average person doesn't notice. The animator you talked about is Yutaka Nakamura, he inspired me and pretty much every new animator entering the industry, he's probably one of the most iconic animators ever. Fun fact he's actually a Studio Bones employee, meaning he doesn't work on many shows outside of MHA or other Studio Bones anime, anytime he does he legally has to go under a pen name, but his work is so recognizable that everyone knows it's him lol.

GiantGoober

I know this isn't a discussion but Overhaul could've killed Shigaraki because Compress only touched his "germ" covered arm and his arm exploded, Overhaul could've used the same thing on Shigaraki when he went to disintegrate his arm.

these reactions are the only thing getting me through the final stretch of sophomore year at university

MegumiMary

I love how they point out Deku was able land the battle with minimal collateral damage- a nice call back to Deku trying to get the stamp from Nighteye at the start of the season All these little bits showing how Deku becomes the greatest Hero in more ways then just being the strongest or beating the strongest villains adds an incredible layer to his journey

Maks Lesniewski

So, Tomura is a psychotic brat, but I must admit, watching him pull a sigma move on Overhaul is satisfying as fuck.

MegumiMary

btw a thought that occured to me while watching that I had to tweet: Me: "My Hero Acedemia's Framing Device makes it abundantly clear that Deku will survive the final battle!" My inner writer: "The unreliable narrator trope could be used here to lull us into a false sense of security so we don't expect Deku is actually narrating the entire series as he is getting ready to make a sacrifice play to take out One for All durring the final battle"

MegumiMary

also when writing that I heard Montana's voice saying "Why would you manifest that?!"

TLKDesu

so many cats at the start, more than my household with two black cats.

Æther Paradox

Man Montana... I wonder if we ever see a roguish sniper character in the show...🤔

Gestrid

Overhaul's quirk actually only works through his hands. Now that he doesn't have any, he's essentially quirkless. That means he can't even fix his old boss so that he'll wake up again, let alone reform his body.

Thiivi

I'm curious about the last question about Nighteye using his quirk on Mirio. The show doesn't indicate whether or not it has been 24 hours since the incident when they're at the hospital right?

Gestrid

Overhaul's quirk only works through his hands. You can actually see him touch himself to reform himself. So his arms are safe to touch. Also, now that Overhaul has lost both of his arms, he's essentially quirkless. That's why Shigaraki says that "Someone who wants to erase quirks shouldn't have one of his own."

Gestrid

Rest in peace, Nighteye. o7

Gestrid

It doesn't, no. It's likely that it's been at least a day, I think, since everyone is all bandaged up and knows how bad the damage is. That takes a long time, especially with so many heroes involved.

V STAN

RIP Nighteye

Joel Gilmore

"Im not ready! please don't leave me" its getting me to tearbend rip nighteye

About Deku not healing his arms with the power of Eri: I feel like if they (the author and animators) decided to turn Deku's arms back to before he broke them in S2, it would also mean getting his strength back to that stage too. I mean, he actually can use around 20% of OFA (I think), but back then he was only able to handle 5%. So he would have have to "retrain" to get back to it's current 20%. I don't know however if Deku made the choice to break his body barely more than Eri's "healing" speed himself

Luís

I can't believe Montana said "bait" LOL

Eric C

i honestly don't feel that bad about what happened to Overhaul, lmao

Macarthius

I feel like from a character growth point of view it would be a bit lame for him to suddenly get his body reset after they've put so much emphasis on how much his recklessness has consequences. I'm not saying he should just stay scarred forever but at this point Deku is still in the "learning control" stage.

Bryan

Holy shit Kenny, I’ve been putting off watching season 6 of Mha but I figured since you guys are getting so close I should watch it first. I WAS NOT expecting it to be that insane I can’t wait for y’all to get there omg

Digital Alikin

Overhaul didn't care about what happened to himself but he screamed because now he can't heal his boss with his arms being taken

Valerie.Z

Nighteye says "today" when talking about Midoriya smashing the future, although he's also barely conscious so his sense of time may not be reliable. But! Quirks can improve with training (cooldown time, number of targets, etc) - so I'm in the camp that Nighteye's "let me see it" was his "go beyond" moment, using the last of his strength to make his quirk activate outside of the conditions he's usually limited by. It'd also make more sense that 24 hours is the amount of time Nighteye had become comfortable being able to assume full use of his quirk; like if he tries 18 hours later maybe he can only see for half an hour, or it's blurry, something he wouldn't find reliable. I do not like the idea that Nighteye might have to go "Can't, it's only been 23 hours, 59 minutes and 58 sec- " *ding!*

Mekar

Maybe I have a weird take, but I always assumed that it was Deku himself that changed the future. Or, more specifically, that One for All overpowered Foresight.

Michelle

It does not matter how many times I watch this episode, every time I watch I am crying by the end lol

Big K

“Highway speed on the highway” ah yes so specific

David L

I definitely think there is some implication that that could be the case to build up the idea that he can sve All Might from being killed, but it also does make a lot of sense for the time related quirk to cancel out the other. Like if Eri could heal All Might back to before OFA injured him in the first place that could be super cool.

dannydarko27

As the discussion pointed out: Overhaul was mainly devastated from losing his quirk because he can no longer reform the original head of the Yakuza. His whole plan already crumbled, just like his arm lol

chris

i think the real reason overhaul didnt react to his arms being attacked was cus his use to just fixing himself, it only set in after the second one that he will be basically quirkless and unable to save his boss

Keyshawn Palmer

They are called “Key animators”

Amon S.

that saying about “it’s not the death that breaks our hearts, it’s their loved ones’ reactions to it” has never been truer than with nighteye’s death and mirio’s reaction. the VA did a phenomenal job, breaks my heart every time.
