VR HOT is dead, long live VR HOT! (Patreon)

Hi friends,

first of all we want to thank you for your early and continuous support. VR HOT was released on Patreon in March 2021. Since then it grew faster and bigger than we expected.

With today's release of VR HOT for Quest here on Patreon, the PC version will be exclusively available on Steam.

In order to keep everything manageable for our small team of two, we will streamline our distribution. Another big reason to focus on Steam is that we want to use some of their features in the future.

We just deactivated the option to become a new subscriber in the old tiers.

Your accounts will stay active at least until March 2023 and we will deliver at least one more update for the PC version. All long-term subscribers (4+ months Designer or 8+ months Player) will receive Steam Keys for the PC version.

You will also get the very first 0.5.0 version of VR HOT for Quest as a thank you for helping us with your money, ideas and criticism.

If you like it and want to support VR HOT for Quest, you can switch to the new Quest Tier.

I don't totally get it, will you continue with developing of PC Version or will just release current state on Steam and than focus solely on Quest?

You can keep 0.9.2 from patreon i guess and pay once more one steam for further updates unless you are 4+ months Designer or 8+ months Player. You can keep getting charged on patreon at least until march 2023 and may get at least one more update for pc.

From the wording, i'm assuming it means they will update the standalone pc version once more then all future distribution and updates will be through the steam version. Then they will continue to updates quest and steaam pc versions.

As we have already stated before, we will continue developing the PC version. After March 2023, Patreon will be exclusively for the Quest version. The PC updates will be released on Steam.

I think you misunderstood. There is no "final release" planned on Steam. We will continue to update the PC version on Steam even after March 2023.
