I’d wanted to get to this episode since you got to Season 2 This Coach Beard episode is ‘unique’, but it’s actually my least favorite… perhaps of the entire series. So you may wonder why this is the point I’ve been waiting for. IT’S THE NEXT EPISODE I NEED YOU TO GET READY FOR. To explain, There are ‘THOSE’ episodes… ‘Two Cathedrals’ (The West Wing) - ‘Chuck vs Sarah’ (Chuck) - ‘Proxy Authentication Required’ (Mr. Robot) - ‘Oximandias’ (Breaking Bad) - ‘The Greater Fool’ (The Newsroom) - ‘Mayday’ (Handmaids Tale) - ‘Dragonfly in Amber’ (Outlander) - ‘Long, Long Time’ (The Last Of Us) and some select others that defines excellence for all TV series. IMHO, the next Ted Lasso episode ‘No Weddings and a Funeral’… may very well be, just such an episode. Enjoy it Lexi!

When I first watched this episode I paused and read all the texts from Jane (which I recommend doing). She is disgusting and manipulative. When he doesn't immediately respond to her I love you text, she tells him how many guys are hitting on her, says she made out with another guy already, tells him she didn't want him to meet her mom because she is embarrassed of him, and then gets into the wishing death on him portion. And I quote "Don't come crawling back to me. Ever. You're dead to me. Literally dead, like, I hope you're lying facedown in a ditch somewhere." That's my main problem with this episode. While I liked the experimental feel, I can't get on board with a whole episode that shows how bad Beard's mental health is and then ends with him jumping back into a toxic relationship being portrayed as a good, happy thing.

The way Jane acts when they meet at the end makes me wonder if she really typed all that or if there is a slight chance that it was Beard imagining things again, like the Thierry Henry stuff. But yeah, pretty toxic stuff in there :/
