Vampires can enter a house of worship that is open to the public. They can't touch the holy water or crosses, is all. I would think other objects similar to the cross would apply, too. I mean, we know in Buffy that Willow was Jewish and turned into a vampire in an alternate reality. I would think crosses wouldn't matter to her, but a Star of David would. I wish they had explored that a bit more. Why would a Christian cross have any more power than another holy symbol more specific to mortal-turned-vampire's belief system? Well, I don't want to get into a religious debate, LOL. It's just weird to me. Because also, what about vampires who pre-date Christianity itself? I guess I would have liked a bit more lore about all that. Maybe it was explored in the comics; I've not read them.

I don’t think you’re missing much of anything not having seen The Exorcist before. I’ve seen it, and the only reference I can think of from this episode is you might not fully appreciate how funny Cordy’s joke is about putting something on the floor 😁. In some ways, this episode may be more effective if you didn’t see the movie first because you may not have been prepared for the mind games the demon played. Those of us who saw the movie expected to see mind games with a demon possession, so it was less surprising. And less intense. The Exorcist is an excellent movie, and I highly recommend it. , But it does live up to its reputation - it’s very disturbing,, so I caution about watching it if you are easily unsettled!
