The Jayne "not saying goodbye" moment is actually one of his best moments I think. He's stopped to tell Mal about all the things he's left for him - prepared a space suit, etc. He didn't have to do any of that, he could have just gone. He thinks Mal is going to die anyway, so it's not like he's trying to earn brownie points. And then that final look when he doesn't speak - he can't say goodbye, he just doesn't know how to. He doesn't have the emotional range to say anything like that. The look says it all. I don't think Jayne likes Mal, but I think he does respect him, and I think that's what that look is trying to say in that moment.

I will probably watch Ariel Friday (I'm a bit behind because so busy recently) so I'll let you know if that's the same. Hopefully it was only a temporary problem. If not then I'm sure I can live with it (though it is annoying).
