I love how Sawyer plays everyone in the group! Between Ana Lucia and her paranoia, to John and Jack’s uneasiness with each other, to Kate’s jealousy of Jack and Ana Lucia being chummy. The man knows how to manipulate people! And while it’s easy to hate the character, the way Josh Holloway plays Sawyer makes it so difficult to dislike him.

I feel like Sawyer reverts out of guilt and self-loathing. He doesn't like himself, and doesn't feel like he deserves love, so he gets uncomfortable when people start to see him as a good guy and then he sabotages it.

I actually like the parallel between Kate and Sawyer this episode: in 1x22 Sawyer is the only one who thinks she could actually stoop so low that she can have something to do with Michael's poisoning, and in the final moments we find out she orchestrated the whole thing with Sun; now Kate is the only one to suggest Sawyer is behind Sun's attempted abduction and in the end of this ep we find out he really is (via Charlie ofc)! "You run, I con" so true!! Will they be able to change? We'll see I guess ;)
