Progress Report: Twitch + Cowboy + The Next Horror (Patreon)

As of 30 minutes ago, I am officially done moving into my new place. The vast swath of cardboard boxes was just picked up to be recycled, and 95% of the furniture is built and placed where it should go. I can no longer procrastinate by saying "Well I'll just build this bookshelf instead of filming anything."

Don't get me wrong, I do need to build that bookshelf. But I'll just do it on the weekend. I need to make stuff. Here's the stuff I'm making:

1. TWITCH (and other branding)

I've been meaning to revamp my Twitch stream for months, but it's always been a second or third or hundredth priority in my mind. I've finally decided to give it some work. I've been working on a new song, some new backgrounds, and a new video for my High Intensity Biking bits. Hopefully, I can use some of this work to help update other parts of my YouTube channel art and things! I'll try to get those turned around by the end of the month.

2. COWBOY

Please refer to the sweet pumpkin lad in the photo above. Karen and I bought him at a flea market for $3 and have become obsessed with him. As a result, I have decided that my next video will be a cowboy puppet show song. I'm in the process of writing the song, and I'm currently ON THE LOOKOUT for the villainous puppet that will play the foil. Obviously Cowboy Pumpo is the hero. Obviously. Look at him.

That said, this might be the first month this year where I don't have a new video on my channel. I hope that the five videos at the end of last month are enough until this one can come out, but please let me know if there's anything I can do on Patreon to keep y'all in the loop!

3. THE NEXT HORROR...

... is also being written, but it's also the first one I've written that requires people other than me to be in it, which is a new challenge. Honestly, one of the big reasons for the move to LA (other than Karen and I trying to get more writing jobs) was to be able to collaborate with other filmmakers and actors to do things that I cannot manage on my own. This horror is shaping up to be way more than something I can handle by myself, so it probably won't be out for a while.

In a perfect world, I'd be able to get a few folks ready to work on it in the next month or so, but also, it's the holidays, and everyone's gonna be away having big feasts. So we'll see.

4. ETC.

A couple more things I've been thinking about!

• I'm also trying to write stuff to get work outside of the YouTube space, which I can't really share, but hopefully will pan out!
• I'm gonna be guesting on a couple other YouTube related things in the near future, which is fun.
• I'm probably gonna get a haircut soon. First one since Karen's beautiful work.
• It's almost been a full year of this Patreon! I will try to do some housekeeping for next month, like some master lists of all the posts organized in one place, and I'll probably ask you all if there's anything you'd like to see changed in the patron rewards! Also, I'd like to give y'all a little something to say thanks for keeping me afloat for a whole year, and I'm working on that with DFTBA, so hopefully I'll have news about that soon, too...
