Today I managed to solve all compatibility problems with 1201A and newer AGESA. No need to worry, everything is fine.

AMD has made some changes to the SMU, fortunately they do not affect the quality of CTR.

P.s. CTR 2.1 RC4 - March 31

Hooray! Well done! Now the real question is whether AMD fixed things on their end for reals with the L3 cache issue and USB. They say they have, but I’m skeptical. 🤔

Yeah, I don't know what is worse? Still working on a stable BIOS five months after launch....or the fact that I still have not found one for sale five months after launch. Now ships are getting stuck in addition to the never ending COVID imbalance of supply and demand....Who would have thought the entire tech industry could be knocked back by a bad cold?

5800X only one that ever shows on Newegg for list. I've been trying the shuffle....but no luck. Yeah, would even pay for the 5950X at list...just will not pay the insane scalpers !!! ON TOPIC: GIGABYTE B550 AORUS PRO AC PATCH A BIOS F13h breaks CTR for sure(on 3600XT). Temps are way up and performance way down. So, good to here you are all on top of it ;)

Gabriel

Sweet now I can upgrade my BIOS finally :)

I can confirm, my LG 4K Brio now works on 4K, where before it would lose its mind and crash any program that had it loaded; especially Nvidia Broadcast. I have been testing the hell out of it and it seem fine. As for the L3 cache.... I never noticed a difference because it was already fast.

If you’re in the US, check Amazon for the 5600X as well as WalMart. They’ve definitely had it in stock more lately. The 5900X is still scare though. :/

you should never upgrade bios unless you: - experience issues - the upgrade brings a feature that you cannot continue use your computer without| if you are on a stable BIOS, you should always stay there.

I updated to the latest ASUS bios "3603 beta" and CTR stopped working for me. It would open but profiles wouldn't work and diagnostic mode would only get to the first run of cb20 then hang. It was giving an address out of range error when I closed it also. I tried a fresh windows install and got the same issue. So I went back to 3405 and everything is fine again. I haven't tried the 3602 bios yet. Has anyone else had any issues with 3603?

i feel like at this point with 5000 series still being somewhat new.. wouldn't you want to keep updating your bios for better compatibility/performance? (as long as they are not beta versions)

Yeah but notice how none of them release detailed documentation with BIOS revisions. Its always "Implemented stability improvements" ...like WTF am I supposed to do with that? Gotta flash over just to see if I like their changes

Gabriel

What part of "Implemented stability improvements" sounds bad?

In most cases, you must evaluate the changes yourself. Unfortunately, there are no detailed notes. There are general changes that are taking place thanks to AGESA, but this is a closed information

These processors are "new" to AMD as well. They still have a lot of changes to make :)
