i love that you reacted to this panel! it was the first real reunion i remember watching and i always love the ending where they address their ideas for brian and justin in the future and how they see them. but there’s definitely more reunions with the rest of the cast you should watch whenever you have time like after the holidays. this is a full main cast reunion for an entertainment weekly cover shoot a few years ago including the actresses for mel and linds and debbie since you mentioned wanting to see them speak too https://youtu.be/j-Sfw9givM8?si=180q4N1VhvknGLTF and here’s the covid livestream i once linked you to a part of that you mentioned https://www.youtube.com/live/tTU2FghGlnI?si=HFtQhvfwxZ4AseTd

Thank you so much for this reaction! I loved it! I really like this panel because I was fun to see the show runners talk about the show to see how it was created! The whole part where they talk about Emmett was really powerful to me. It was cool to hear how their whole judgements taught them a lot and how they wanted to show that within the show as well. Also, yes, Robert is literally Ben! Haha, I love it though. Yes, I kinda agree with the ending. But also, like you said, I feel like Justin showing up would have been slightly confusing or tell a different story than it was. For the reboot of QaF, it just fell short for me. I only watched like three episodes and the characters and stuff seemed kinda fun and interesting. But they tried to portray very similar ideas/storylines/character types that just couldn't be done because of the times. So much of QaF is how 'casual' and 'real' the characters are, and the reboot characters didn't feel that way. I mean this in the nicest way, but a lot of them did just feel like stereotypes. For example (skip if you don't want an explanation of a character, no spoilers though), two of the characters were obviously Brian and Justin. But they were like 18-year-old high schooler and a college-aged kid. Like they definitely tried to be more PC about it, which makes sense, but it doesn't hold any of the same weight that the age gap in Brian and Justin did. Justin was someone who no experience at all in sexuality or the gay community, while Brian was already well-off in a job and a 'real adult'. The characters in the reboot were a high schooler VERY involved in the gay community and a college-aged young man also very involved in the community and just dropping out of college. Just one part that kinda fell short for me. Yes, the COVID one was really good too. I think the entire cast besides Brian's actor was there.
