Been a lovely surprise getting all 4 episodes today, you really made my day :) Thank you! I think like you said Klara's not realizing full danger is somewhat on Kuba. She also clearly seeks answers adults in her life are not willing to give her. So she uses this time when she is less supervised to sneak out. They said she is a smart kid, but even smart kids do dumb stuff sometimes. And yeah Kuba's assistant Maja is his sorta girlfriend I guess or a workplace fling. There were few mentions earlier, eg. Klara said that Jasmina is on first name basis with Kuba, while he even refers to Ms. Maja as 'Ms.' and he sleeps at her place sometimes ;) The 'Mr/Ms' is very traditional workplace communication style here. First name basis you only do with friends/family and in recent years in 'western style managed' workplaces. In 90s no workplace would have first name basis. There is a lot of true elements to the story from the latest episodes: The fights with police and military about the blowing up floodbanks really happened. (So did the various tricks the residents used like switching road signs to send the police into wrong directions, and digging road trap as seen in prior episodes). There was deep distrust to any promises made by government. One of vice-ministers said about floods when they started to hit mountain regions few days earlier that people should had insurances. So this is why all this animosity to government is coming from. People have no guarantees that they will be indeed taken care of. Wally's escape from the zoo was just an urban legend at the time but memorable enough to be included :) The lady journalist is inspired by a real journalist Magda Mołek who was only 21 at the time, but really became a recognizable figure in the national news later on. She was interviewed about the fictional character and said she wishes she was so self-assured as the fictional Ewa is. And everyone everyone keeps bringing up how the hydrology experts were more bothered by academic discussions and in-fighting instead of offering real solutions. So incompetent experts in HQ? Very much true. I did not want you to watch the trailer because it shows Klara with Jasmina from future episodes, and I knew how this episode cliffhangers. I have not anticipated that they now use those as photos for a show promotion... Oh well Netflix gonna Netflix. See ya for the conclusion in December :)
