4C- Thank you once again for another fabulous reaction for more Person of Interest, Jessie! I absolutely love this episode!! It's fantastic that for a majority, this episode is set on a plane, and that Reese is forced to fight against a number of unknown assassins also on the plane with him, in order to save this computer genius known as the Sphinx, who designed a black market drug site. I think that this episode's whole story concept is absolutely brilliant!! :) Most of all... I especially love the ending scene, upon Reese discovering that he needs to keep saving people. That he needs to keep working. This job... Saving people, has become his life and sole purpose. And without it, Reese is lost and broken. Which is very sad, but understandable, given all that Reese has tragically been through. Plus... Reese cares about Finch too. I think, that in spite of Reese's anger towards Finch for creating the Machine, and in spite of his complete distrust in the Machine, he trusts in Finch. Especially because he believes Finch in the end, when Finch explains that he built the Machine to give them just the numbers, so that they will always have a say regarding what happens to these people our team fights to either save or stop. So that a human element is always involved in the decision regarding what happens to the people they're fighting to save. And Reese just doesn't trust everyone's lives being in the hands of the Machine. I love that Finch comes to Italy to meet up with Reese and then explains to Reese that he built the Machine to give them the numbers so that they can decide how to deal with them, and then reminds Reese that he deeply misses Carter too. This is a beautiful moment between these brilliant characters. This ending scene between Reese and Finch is perfect, and I absolutely love it!! Reese is back!! And he's getting himself a new suit. :) Now... I absolutely love Reese's conversation with the Sphinx about how reckless these computer geniuses are, because they don't seem to think about the consequences that might affect everyone around them. And while Finch does care about people, he built the Machine at a time in his life when he chose to ignore these consequences, until it was too late. Nathan's death was his wake up call. However, Finch also made the right decision when he programed the Machine in the fashion that he had. Because it does allow for humans... our heroes, to make the tough choices they do when they fight to save or stop the numbers that come up, and to stop the people coming after them. Putting all of the decisions in the Machine's hands would have been a huge mistake. While I love Root overall as a character, and I find her devotion and complete loyalty to the Machine fascinating, I also find it really scary, and very wrong at times too. And it makes me also kind of dislike her more than I would like to. This is the biggest reason why Root for me, isn't my favorite character throughout the show like she is for most fans who love this show. Root has certain flaws that I have trouble looking past at times. I most certainly understand Reese's reserve in trusting the Machine with the people they fight to save. However, I absolutely love how it is the Sphinx's words about Reese being a good guy for helping people without seeking any kind of reward, that is partly what convinces Reese to come back. And I love how Holly's words to him, as well as Finch's words to him in the ending about him putting the lives in their own hands and not in the hand of the Machine, and about him dearly missing Carter too, is the main reason for Reese deciding to return with Finch to New York so they can continue fighting for people. And while Reese may not trust in the Machine, he does trust Finch, Shaw, and Fusco, and he needs to keep trying to save people. As a way to redeem himself for his past sins. And Reese does see just how much Finch truly cares. Not just about their numbers, and even Carter, but for him as well. Absolutely phenomenal!! :) As for Reese fighting against each of these unknown assassins to save Owen... I absolutely love everything about all that takes place on this plane. I love seeing Reese knock the jerk who had been rude to Holly out so casually, and then seeing him fight against the assassins, all the while protecting Owen from himself. I like Owen and his goofiness, as well as his sass. Even though he's also annoying as all heck. He's just a fun character to watch, and I love his interactions with Reese. Oh... And I absolutely love Owen's salt and pepper line to Reese as well when he's talking about women loving men with gray in their hair. So, so funny. And Owen is right... The salt and pepper look on Reese suits him, and it makes him hot! You're right too, Jessie! Ha! Ha! Ha! I love it! :) I also love that while Reese is taking out the final assassin inside the cockpit, Finch works to land the plane from the library in New York in order to keep it from crashing and killing Reese and all of the passengers aboard, using some kind of simulator. Is it cheesy and a bit far fetched? Maybe. But I still enjoy this moment for Finch's character nonetheless. I especially love that Reese holds out his phone so that Finch can hear the passengers' applauses meant for him. I suspect that Finch had this control in reach because, either he saw to it to purchase this equipment early on immediately after learning Reese was fighting against these unknown assassins on a plane, so that in case their situation turned into the worst case scenario, he would be prepared to help save Reese and the people on the plane should he need to help Reese land the plane, or he already had this simulator on hand. Given that Finch has been established as a pilot. As we learn from a previous episode in season two. Season two's seventeenth episode, titled... Proteus. I guess that this episode's writers just chose not to show us this detail they most likely thought wasn't all that important. And they're right. We don't need to know every detail regarding things that aren't necessary to the important storyline. Next... I really love Holly, the flight attendant who works with Reese throughout this episode too. She's sweet and brave to help this stranger she comes to put complete trust in upon seeing him work so hard to keep this one kid alive from multiple threats. Plus... She sees Reese knock the annoying guy on his phone unconscious after he had been so rude to her, as well as help the old lady sitting next to him with her bags a few minutes earlier too. She quickly comes to see that Reese is a good man with a good heart. And I love her for this. I also love that Holly grows to like Reese enough to ask him out for coffee or a drink afterwards too. And I love that Reese accepts her invitation. I think they're cute together, and I would absolutely love to see Holly again for sure. And lastly... I love Shaw's interactions with one of the men responsible for her former partner's death at the traveling agency, as well as with Hersh. I just absolutely love her spunk and ferocity. Shaw's just fantastic! And yes... Hersh survived the grenade incident at the bank. :) Overall... A phenomenal episode, and I cannot wait for more reactions for Person of Interest to come!!! Thank you once again, Jessie! Sincerely, Heidi
