Lethe and Aletheia- Person of Interest is absolutely phenomenal!!! :) Most people who watch this show, consider Root to be their absolute favorite character. And don't get me wrong... I love Root very much. But her absolute devotion to the Machine is so creepy, and it also at times makes me feel very uneasy. Because she exclaims to Control that the Machine is her entire reason for living, which is absolutely terrifying and very wrong. Even if the Machine is good, and is helping Root to become a better person than the murderer and psychopath she is. And I can't love Root so completely, aside from me just loving Amy Acker for the way she portrays this character. For me... John Reese is my absolute favorite character all throughout this show!! And not just because I absolutely love Jim Caviezel. I just love everything about Reese!! Whether he's wrong or right to give up because he's lost all trust in the Machine. I very much appreciate your insights regarding Reese and his feelings of loss and newfound distrust in the Machine. I absolutely agree with all you've said. Reese is a broken man, who like Finch, Shaw, and Root... trusted completely in the Machine, until he's now lost a second person he deeply came to care about and love. And if you remember... Jessica was once a number that Finch had received multiple times due to her having lived with the man... her husband... who would eventually kill her. And Reese was a number on a few different occasions as well. The Machine protects Harold and Root, but it has not been so kind to Reese. Sadly, this is just the way the world tragically works sometimes. Some people lose a lot in their lives and suffer terribly, in spite of them being good people like Reese and Finch are. And while Finch hasn't gone through the same trials as Reese has, he too has lost a lot, and all because he has been the one to succeed in building the Machine. With all this being said... I absolutely understand Reese's anger, and his distrust towards the Machine. Just like you too, Jessie. I can absolutely understand Reese's mindset. And I don't believe that it is just Carter's death that has caused him to lose trust and faith in their mission to save people. I just think that Carter's death was the final straw that has finally pushed John over the edge. John has lost too much in his life. First with losing his own humanity upon becoming the killer and monster a big part of him believes himself to be, then losing Jessica, and finally Carter. Reese came back to save Finch because he couldn't lose his best friend too. Nor could he allow the world to lose him. And like John saw Jessica's husband Peter to be his enemy for killing her, he now sees the Machine as his enemy, because the Machine failed to warn him in time to save Carter. After all... Reese never got his chance to get to Simmons who really killed her. This two part episode is fantastic, for so many reasons! I love Reese's and Fusco's storyline, and learning that Fusco quit drinking back when Reese first came into his life and saved him from his past self. Because Reese saved Fusco from himself as much as Carter did in her own ways too. Fusco is great in these episodes for trying to help Reese, and for wanting to be there to help bring him back home as a way of trying to pay him back for saving him first. And I really love the actor who plays Arthur as well. Saul Rubinek. An actor I know from a number of shows and movies too. Shows such as Warehouse 13 and Frasier, etc... I love Arthur's story, as well as his connection with both Finch and Nathan too. And his story is so very sad. I feel so heartbroken upon seeing Arthur losing himself a little more every day. Next... I love getting to know Control at last, and I love her as a villain throughout this show as well! Camryn Manheim is absolutely brilliant in her role as Control, and she's a great actress whom I have also seen in a number of shows as well. Shows such as Law and Order, Harry's Law, The Practice, Touched By an Angel, and a fantastic miniseries I absolutely love, titled... The Tenth Kingdom. The scenes between her, Root, and the Machine are fantastic!! Shaw is fabulous too, just like she always is! And as for Hersh... I actually really love his character too. I think he's a great henchman working under the villains. And lastly... I love learning even more about Finch from his backstory, where we get to meet his father, who's story is very, very sad. Just like Arthur's story too. And I absolutely love that we finally come to see why Finch continues to choose names of birds for his aliases, because of how much his father loved birds. It's a very touching tribute to his father, as we could see how much Finch truly loved him. Thank you for your reactions for these marvelous episodes of Person of Interest, Jessie!! Sincerely, Heidi

Jessie Dobbie Reactions

I agree! I love Root, but it's too much crazy for me LOL I love Reese, he is the best, but I have to go with Shaw as my most recent favorite!

Wanda Did Nothing Wrong

Gonna have to strongly disagree with your view that Finch and Reese have ever completely trusted the Machine. They really haven’t. Root and Shaw are the only 2 who have. Pretty sure that’s why The Machine had Root team up with Shaw to begin with, because she knew that Shaw would trust the Machine enough to trust Root. No way would Finch or Reese do that, as we’ve seen.
