As a fellow lover of tulips, I approve of your taste in flowers. :) For a show that's so progressive in LGBT terms, I find it odd that it makes lowbrow jokes about the Chiquis sister's blindness with her constantly stumbling into things or missing visual cues or whatnot (we'll see that in multiple episodes). So that's one thing I'm not crazy about despite liking the show. To clarify, Carmela gets called Carmela and Carmelita at different times because the suffix -ito/a can be used to make words sound cuter/sweeter. Kind of like calling someone named John by Johnny when they're a little kid.
