Queer As Folk Season 4 Episode 7 Preponderance of Death

QaF really has the ability to just make emotional episode after emotional episode, lol. I did really like this one! I think it's from one of the reunions or something, but the actor who plays Ben mentioned that he loved how the show was able to show three generations of HIV and show how different yet similar they can be. You have Vic who was diagnosed during the AIDS crisis and eventually passes from it, you have Ben who shows that generation where people were still getting rather easily and the very beginning of meds used for it, and now Hunter who represents the newest generation of people with HIV where a long life is very possible but the stigma and fear is still very real. It's really awesome! I truly haven't seen a show since Queer as Folk that dealt with queer issues as well and as broadly as this show did. It's also kinda amazing that this was 20 years ago and some shows still won't get as risky as QaF!

Jessie Dobbie Reactions

I completely agree! I actually mentioned that in the episode I just did or the one before that how it's so intresting to see the reactions from not only these different generations, but their reactions to how and what the other generations around them go through. I wish there would eb more shows like QAF. IT's really a shame that nothing today compares to it becuase it is done so well.

ted and emmett finally talking in this episode always makes me teary. i really did miss their friendship. also i don’t talk about them enough but ted and blake are easily my favorite ted relationship. i have such an attachment to them even with their limited screen time. it’s always sad for me to see blake leave. they need to get their timing right someday.
