it’s just one book but i would still love a sequel. i found this to be a fun adaption but the movie definitely cut a lot out of the story. some major characters are even missing. alex has a sister in the book and bea, henry’s sister, has a whole interesting backstory that they don’t even reference in this. sadly the director said they had to cut anything that wasn’t alex and henry related which sucks because the book is so much richer.

I can´t believe people complained before the movie came out that allegedly Taylor and Nick wouldn´t have chemistry with eachother. This was so great! And personally I want the extended cut of this, because initially they had 3 hours of footage before cutting it down. The way they showed their texting and flirting prior to the first kiss was so good. And they had potentially one of the best sex scenes I´ve ever seen! Besides both of them obviously being... visually pleasing and it being nice that they didn´t shy away from showing it. Alex was being so nervous and cute about it. It just felt so raw and soft and vulnerable. Just look at Henry´s face during it. It´s so good! Speaking of Henry´s face, man Nick is so good at conveying things with just his face. His acting when Alex was basically swooning and about to drop the I love you and Henry just dying inside was such a great scene. Another thing I really liked is the impression Alex made on Henry. When he is talking about the importance and role of royalty with his sister he is repeating almost exactly what Alex said about wanting to help improve people´s lifes. And he is questioning if the royal family even does any of that. I think it´s really funny by the way, that they cast Stephen Fry, a gay actor, as the homophobic grandpa. Can we always give roles like that to gay actors please? By the way, he is also the voice of the principal in Heartstopper. It really worked out well that they changed the Queen to a King because the Queen died a while ago and they didn´t want to offend anyone.

It makes sense that they had to cut stuff with the movie being 2 hours already, but I hope that just means we will get to dive into the details of everything else in a sequel!

Right! I want a sequel where we see both sides of the characters living their truths and the publics appeal to it both the good and the bad! And I want to see how they would handle that situation on different occasions. Plus I just want to see more of the couple in general!
