So I don't want to give any spoilers for future book material, so I'll be as simple about it as I can, lol. But I'm super interested as well to see what they do with Ben's character, because Ben's character actually plays a somewhat important role in Solitaire, which is the book about Charlie's sister, Tori. The Solitaire events happen towards the middle/end of the 4th Heartstopper book, so I'll be interested to see if Solitaire will be included at all (so they couldn't change too much about Ben's character from the books) or if the events will kinda be ignored (and they can do whatever with him). Also, fun fact, I'm not sure how much you know about the books, but Heartstopper is actually a spin-off of Solitaire. We originally meet Charlie and Nick in Solitaire, which happens a little less than a year after the start of Heartstopper. It's actually super interesting to see the first introduction of Charlie, because it's kinda hard to imagine this Charlie and that Charlie as the same person. Not extremely different or anything, just very interesting. Heartstopper, the books, were actually made because Alice, the author, wanted to give some background to Charlie (and Nick) since they are such well-loved characters in Solitaire. I'm so curious on how the show is going to play out some of the topics and events from the books!

oOo I didn't know all of that, that's so exciting!! I absolutely love Tori, so to know there is an entire book about her is great! Is it a series, or just 1 book? I need to go buy this and read it right now lol Now Idk if I should read that or Heartstopper first!

It´s not really a "series" but Alice has made multiple books set in the same universe. They just aren´t all super connected. I would suggest to start with Heartstopper. Solitaire is set in the middle of Heartstopper Volume 4, and while Nick and Charlie aren´t a focus in it it might still be better to wait to see if the show might adapt stuff from it or not. You can check aliceoseman com too as she provides a timeline. Although she also says you can read in whatever order you want. There are also 2 spin off short stories specifically about Nick and Charlie, which I would really just suggest after being familiar with Heartstopper. Those are "This Winter" and "Nick and Charlie"

Beny explained pretty much how I would have. If you want it in order, I'd do Heartstopper Volume 1, Volume 2, Volume 3, either split Volume 4 in first (with Solitaire in the middle), or do Solitaire then Volume 4. "this Winter" also takes place between the beginning of Volume 4 and Solitaire as well, lol. It all makes more sense when you know when they all came out though. Solitaire came out first. Then you have "Nick and Charlie" which tell about them "in the future" (not by much, but just after Solitaire). Then, lots of people wanted to know much about the events leading up to Solitaire that involve Charlie, so This Winter was written. Then Nick and Charlie were just so loved, she decided to do a webtoon for people to see how they got together and what lead up to the events of Solitaire. Then the webtoons were published in Volumes. She ends up going further in time than Solitaire, so the main events that affect Charlie and Nick in it are briefly mentioned in Volume 4, but Solitaire is definitely worth the read for more Tori and a bit more of Charlie's story. I made the weird mistake of just watching Season 1 then reading Solitaire, cause I wanted to read it "in order of publish", which just lead to me getting a bit of whiplash, lol. Definitely better to see how we get from Season 1 Nick and Charlie to Solitaire Nick and Charlie by reading Heartstopper first. Also, because Solitaire, Nick and Charlie, and This Winter were all written before Heartstopper, personalities and stuff are just a bit different, since Nick and Charlie weren't as fleshed out characters yet. Just a warning with those books.
