They didn´t really "contact" Uther about the ransom. They left a note on one of the dead knights. And they left that note before Morgana escaped. So Uther´s assumption that they killed Gwen after Morgana escaped makes sense. I think Lancelot mainly left because of Arthur. Merlin didn´t verbally confirm it but his looks basically confirmed it when Lance asked if Arthur had feelings for Gwen. And even if Arthur and Gwen can´t be "together" he is still able to be around her, unlike Lancelot, so I guess that is better? I think Lancelot and Gwen are cute, but it still feels a bit jarring how quicklly she went back to him after she and Arthur just kissed 2(?) episodes ago. I get it, Arthur and her can´t happen, but wow, she got over that fast! And the next episode is FUN! Heads up, if you got time, maybe try to do 2 episodes of Merlin next week. The next 2 episodes are a two part thing.

Is this the part of the series where I name drop the 2 main characters constantly? Because that's exactly what I meant for why Lancelot left and I have a feeling I kept saying Merlin's name by accident didn't I lol I don't think it's that she got over Arthur, I think she's just very hurt by the whole situation and knows that Arthur will stand by that decision until Uther dies...which is hopefully soon!! LOL
