The show very nearly never got a season 2 and people were asking for it so much that it got renewed, largely because of how huge of a cliffhanger it ended season 1 on.

It's All in the Executions- Thank you so much for all of your reactions for season one of this fantastic musical series, Jessie! I really love this show for all of its creativity and its music, as well as for its cast of wacky characters. Galavant is very unique in many ways. And I especially love, love, love King Richard, played by the brilliant and hilarious... Timothy Omundson, whom I absolutely love as an actor! I too was also very sad that this show only lasted two seasons, and that it was nearly cancelled after just one. Thank goodness we fans' of Galavant fought for its survival! I am excited for your continued reactions for Galavant season two for sure. Although... I do have to say that I prefer season one over season two, just slightly. Not to say that season two is bad in any way. Because it's great! I just like season one as a whole a little more is all. Like I've mentioned many times now... King Richard is easily my favorite character throughout this show. Mostly because Timothy Omundson is just hysterical, and I love him as an actor. But I just love King Richard as an overall character. Yes... Richard is technically a villain. And yet he is a very lovable villain. Much in the same way that so many people love Cruella De Vil throughout Once Upon a Time. However, Richard is clearly not all evil like Cruella De Vil. And there's so much more to Richard being the kind of man he is. He was picked on and bullied by his own brother when he was a young boy, and Richard is always being walked all over by everyone, except by Gareth... most of the time. He may seem not to have any kind of empathy when he kills people, whether it be on purpose or just by accident, but he does care about people very deeply, and he often shows it. Especially towards Gareth and the Chef. And Richard is also strangely forgiving, seeing how quickly he and Galavant come to be friends in the very end of this episode. At least friends in Richard's eyes. I absolutely love the newfound friendship now being developed between King Richard and Galavant, now that our hero has been forced to protect Richard upon his banishment from the kingdom, thanks to Gareth forcing them both to flee so that Richard has a chance to survive. Even before their banishment... when Richard and Galavant team up in song to attempt to kill Kingsley. Their friendship is fantastic throughout this show, and so hilarious! I also really love Richard's and Gareth's friendship throughout this show as well. They are two very, very different men. And yet... Their friendship has still lasted all these years, ever since they were both young boys. And I love Gareth's devotion to keeping Richard safe from harm. Madalena is probably my least favorite of the main characters throughout this show, but I still enjoy her as the real villain. She really is evil, and there are absolutely no redeeming qualities about her. And in a way... I think that this is why I feel that she is the most unlikeable character for me. Because she just doesn't feel real. Because there's no real character development for her whatsoever. I like her mostly just because I am curious to see what she'll do next, because she is very unpredictable in regards to what she'll do next. We just know that she will do something evil is all. Aside from this, she's kind of boring. Princess Isabella is a fun character, played by Karen David, whom I've always loved ever since she played Princess Jasmine in Once Upon a Time. And I do enjoy her character here in Galavant a lot as well. However, I'm not really sure I'm one hundred percent onboard with Galavant's and Princess Isabella's love story. In my opinion... Their love story came on a little too suddenly for me, even though they've been working together for some time now, ever since the first episode of this series. Until one or two episodes ago, they've hated each other. Plus... I feel that both of these characters have a lot more work to do as far as their development and growth are concerned. They both have tremendous flaws, and sometimes I have too much trouble ignoring these said flaws and annoyances I have with them in order to enjoy their romance. And lastly... I love each of the songs throughout this season one finale! Just as I love all of the songs throughout this entire series. However, the two songs that really stand out for me within this episode are... Secret Mission sung by Richard and Galavant while they're plotting to kill Kingsley, and Goodnight My Friend sung by King Richard as he's singing goodnight to Gareth from down inside the dungeons, which inevitably helps Gareth make the right choice in the end to save his closest friend's life. Secret Mission is absolutely hilarious, and Goodnight My Friend is really a beautiful and emotional song. And Timothy Omundson's voice is surprisingly beautiful too. I wasn't expecting him to be able to sing as well as he can. These two songs are my favorites throughout this whole show as well. Not just within this season finale. :) Thank you once again, dear friend! I'm looking forward to more Galavant from you. And I'm happy that someone has chosen to request this series for you to enjoy. So, thank you too, Sikozu! Until next time... Sincerely, Heidi

1st season was a super fun ride. And certainly we will be continuing for season 2, where we get to explore some more fun relationships, and listen to a few more great songs. Cheers! I also hope at least one of your patrons who have never heard of Galavant decided to dive with us on to this journey as well ;) *waves*

I agree in that I feel like Isabella and Galavant could have more going on there. I love them both individually as characters, but it would help to have more sparks flying!
