I can honestly say yes Ginny is brat but my defence for her is that she sees Georgia as the root cause of why she can’t have what she deems as a normal life. She said at the beginning of the episode in her monologue Georgia has moved them 12 times that Ginny can remember and as such I believe with each move Ginny has built up resentment towards Georgia and it’s all bubbling up now. With the Maddy and Georgia situation, it is a lose-lose situation that I don’t think there is ever a good ending between them. Georgia is right in thinking for the safety of her child and not wanting Maddy around but Maddy is right in feeling betrayed for Georgia kicking her out back home. Yes their age difference might be small but because Georgia had Ginny she knew she had to wake up and “smell the roses” where as Maddy is still living in that childlike naïveté. In conclusion no one is happy.

I have to say I think Ginny is the the closest thing to a perfect daughter for Georgia. Amy other kid would have complained 5 moves ago. She is definitely acting Bratty, but I feel like there's a good chance that this is the first time Ginny has ever acted bratty, so she kind of deserves a freebie lol And That's a really good point, the fact that Georgia had Ginny IS what made her grow up faster.

Don’t feel bad for judging Marcus. We all did. He was an idiot at the beginning. I like that they didn’t have ginny chase after the bad boy and put up with his rubbish. She likes Marcus but when he didn’t step up she did her own thing. We like Marcus now though. I can forgive idiot boys for being idiot boys if they actually grow up and learn and do better. Love a good character arc, and Marcus has turned into a sensitive young man who listens, gives advice when asked but otherwise let’s ginny talk and vent and validates how she’s feeling. Plus he loves and looks after his sister and in my opinion has the best one liners and facial expressions. Hunters fine I guess. He’s nice enough and tries to do the right thing, but he doesn’t really try to understand Ginny, he intellectualises and tries to solve her problems which is really frigging annoying and invalidating when you’re trying to share how you feel. Plus he’s so cheesy, he’s a caricature of the perfect high school boyfriend. It doesn’t feel authentic……. But it makes sense when you consider his experiences as a teenager of Asian heritage in white bread wellsbury. I am a total ginny apologist. A lot of people are anti ginny in s1 and think that Georgias this amazing mum. But as much as I love Georgia as a character. As an actual mother she’s not great. I don’t think she really matured beyond 15, she still solves her problems with the short sighted, self centred viewpoint of a teenager. In episode 1 we found out ginny had moved I think it was 12 times. She’d basically never completed an entire school year in one place. And it wasn’t just moving house, they moved states, always starting new. She left Austin home alone on Halloween. He’s a baby! I’m a single mum, I get it, it’s hard. I’ve had to Uber eats milk and bread before when I realised we’d run out and my son was already asleep and we needed it for the morning. I’ve had to cancel on numerous events when childcare fell through, or taken him to work with me. Leaving a child that age home alone at night watching scary movies alone just is not an acceptable option. Not to even mention the premeditated murder of her husband. He was a creep sure, but what use is she to the kids in jail. And the credit cards in the kids names. Lord I could go on and on

That's very true! While I love Georgia she tends to make some pretty crazy decisions. I think the way they make you love her character and feel for her is why so many of them are excused of forgotten.

Surprised she likes John Mayer , I remember when he went on a racist tirade years ago with Playboy magazine specifically about his dislike of black women.
