I knew you would love this one! So yeah, Phantom of the Theme Park is obviously a homage to Phantom of the Opera. Really excited that you will be watching that soon by the way. But another reference is Courtney´s song "Down There". The melody is very reminiscent of "Part of your world" from the little mermaid, and also the lyrics fit that theme a lot. Oh and Courtney uses she/her, she is referred with female pronouns multiple times in the show. But I´ve heard in the comics they used they/them instead. Another interesting thing about her song. Everything she says about hell sounds like she only heard about it or read it somewhere, like she doesn´t have real experience living there. And in combination with the reveal that the cuffs that trapped her on earth were put on by angels that leaves room for speculation. I know she looks a lot like a demon, but since she has connections to angels, maybe she is actually a fallen angel? She was too bad to be an angel and was banished, and maybe lost her memories and just assumed she is a demon and supposed to be in hell? I really like Barney´s song too, it´s really cute. And there is also some more meaning behind it. He sings about how Logs probably just sees him as "some guy". Normally that would probably be all he want. Since he is trans he really just wants people to perceive him as "a guy" but specifically with Logs "just" that isn´t enough.
