tbh, I really shipped Regina and Hook after this episode lol Your reaction to the identity of the Queen of Hearts is the best xD "that's a good hook" I love you so much That wasn't her father's tower but inside Regina's castle.

Melissa Amato

I believe that in the Eville Queen's castle, Hook was just the cold Hearted driven man, who would effectively accomplish in taking her mother's Heartlessness, the Queen of Hearts, Heart♥️But unaware of her mother's Heartlessness, Cora grabbed Hook's Heart♥️ it seems she made a familiar connection with him, if you rewatch back the second time, you see we see Cora's hold on him still, which is why Hook is so quick to jump ship, & join with Emma & Co. Till she left him up on a Bean stalk. When Cora finds Hook, after what he did, she seems genuinely hurt, that her Pretty Pet Pirate, has Betrayed her, & is ready to teach him a lesson. But watch Hook getting back in his Mistress's good graces, & not end up carved up, by his own Hook. Hook knew, that Cora was at that moment, his ticket to Storybrooke. He had to offer up Arora's Heart💗 Or Cora would have his. Little did he know however, that once Cora had his heart, she had his attention. She only had guild him. Perhaps see him as the son she never had, I'm not saying, that she tucks him into his bed with milk, & biscuits, & a lulling Sea Shanty, I'm just saying, they have equal agendas, & she leaves him little cookie crumbs, along the way, because he listens to her, & responds favorably. Seems Hook just needs some good ol' Mothering, & Chocolate milk like any little boy does With Hook's dedication, Cora found, in him a Villainous Companion, Worthy of her's, & Because she held his heart♥️🧑🏻He became unwittingly, willing to rejoin her, in their conquest to Storybrooke, against all odds. Hook, was a hurt lil boy, when Emma abandoned him, he has Abandonment issues too, he also made a connection with her. But both had been damaged, from all they been thru. & Both had walls, & Hook had been hurt before. Emma has trust issues, & both refuse to give in, when Emma needs our clear. She worries about her son. But her mistake cost them both trust in the other. Hook decided to go back to his Mistress Cora, & lay his heart on the line, again, for the sweetest revenge upon the Demon who dared to take from him, what he loved. All else didn't matter, & since poor Belle was what Hook found out to be what Rumplestilkin loved, she was still an eye for a hand, so to Hook, he had no care to allow her to live. But Writers mistake; It only makes Hook look like the unforgivable malechauvinistic Villain, who can't feel for anyone, or anything. But when he meets Cora, & Emma, he is tamed, his fight with Emma, is meant to show her up, but not meant to kill, he blocks & uses defense motivations, as a way to subdue her fighter sense.

Melissa Amato

They are both the same in that retrospect. But Hook is a boasting Pirate, who was written as such. He's really just trying to make Emma feel like a fool, for hurting his heart. & he is in no place to put faith in. By trying something New, Hook left his Heart♥️🧑🏻 on the line, with Emma. His intentions were clearly selfish, & his over confidence made Emma feel he would abandon her, like Neal had. So now we have Emma's dilemma; Hook is automatically a risk, rightfully so, but he didn't show her any mistreatment, & Hook told her the truth. Laying his Heart ♥️on the line. Emma also can tell when he was lying to her. But he was too much like Neal, & she couldn't risk her Heart♥️ from being used again. So when Emma leaves Hook, both miss the opportunity to find more in the other. No love loss, no reason to give the other anything but the fight at the end is a stand off that means so much more, then either care to admit. Hook as a man has to show Emma just how much of a peacock he can be. Emma is so desperate to take her opponent down, she messes up, & Hook assumes, as any man~ (yuck!) That he's got not only the upper Hook on her, he can monologue & go NAH NAH NAH! Taunting Her. So that she can give him that opening left Hook!

Melissa Amato

Oncer's all cheer, & groan at ONCE for this Tete Tete. It is a ONCER WRITERS MISTAKE THAT MAKES HOOK LOOK NOT ONLY STUPID, BUT WHAT WE EXPECTED HIM TO BE, NOT WHAT WE HAD HOPED FOR. HOOK IS NOW IN THE TALE CONSIDERED, A BAD BAD IDEA. HE'S A VILE MAN, WE CANT UNDERSTAND, NORE CARE TOO. IT MAKES ME SO PISSED OFF, JESSIE... However don't loose faith, remember Emma did do him wrong as well. Who wants to be left with a Giant who may kill you, may crush you, he did Emma! She chanced Hook's life, no better then he did Belle. But Regina stopped him. & Knew how to use the Pirate to her advantage. Regina was just as good at playing the men, as much as Rumple played her, Poor Belle is caught in the middle of their games. But Belle is too trusting, Writers Mistake; She didn't go with Mulan, & Prince Philip. If she had, maybe the edge would have been in her favor. I could go on, so I won't. There is a horrible misjustice for Belle, we see her fighting, we see her intelligence save Philip, but she is weak when it comes to the Queen's skeevie rats. Belle can't use her intelligence to get those men, Mulan has to step in? Ok, love Mulan, but seriously, Belle is so unforgivably sad. She outwits the men on the wagon, only to have them return to bully & harass her?! Dam'n Writers did her bad... Is it any wonder why they wanted Hook to dispatch her as well. It makes a temptation for Hook, who claims he's a gentleman first, no, the Writers made Hook into a unfeeling unsympathetic Character, no better then the men who bullied her, on the cart. AKA: JUSTICE FOR BELLE👩🏻/ JUSTICE FOR 👊🏻HOOK🧑🏻...🤘🏻🎤🔥😛💗🌎💗👎🏻 THANK YOU JESSIE be well, you got me giggling. Your Amazing, & yeah allergies Suck! ✨🌙🌙👩🏻🐶 🛡️⚔️🛡️ Please Stay Strong Everyone. Blessings sent.

Oh man, I was a huge shipper for the longest time. There is one sce-- *muffles self* I won't say anymore until we get to it, but yeah. I really love them.

Alex A Alvarenga

Definitely top 5 episode for season 2 one of my favorites I was so excited for you to see The Twist on who's the queen of hearts also it was so magical watching you enjoy every part of this epic episode I just wanted to give you a little insight so you know how you were feeling at the end when they weren't inviting Regina to go have dinner with them well if you look up an interview with the creators they said this was back in season 2 and this was before social media was a big thing people were writing letters to ABC

Alex A Alvarenga

ABC Studios and we're extremely upset why Henry and the rest of them didn't invite Gina at this part this was the first time the creators really understand how important Regina's Redemption Arc was going to be so you're just watching the beginning of it and the way you're feeling is the way we all felt for Regina the network never saw an audience so extremely upset off of one little thing so it just proved that people were really into the show

Jessie Dobbie Reactions

I absolutely love how the writers listen to the fandom! It’s so refreshing to have a show actually care about their viewers!

I think it's hilarious that everyone feels sorry for Regina when they don't invite her to dinner...she literally tried to KILL Emma and Mary Margaret ten minutes earlier! Watch the smile of utter glee when Rumple says "no one is getting through that". No matter who comes through that bad portal, it was a win-win for Regina and she was just super excited about it. Regina plays on Henry's emotions a lot trying to justify her villainy. She can do the most dastardly of deeds, and still think she's a hero, at least at this point. And she's always trying to make Henry see she's the hero and everyone else is the villain. She is so in denial. I will say though, Regina throws on the form-fitting velvet when she's trying to seduce, every single time! Obviously, Hook and Regina are masters at playing that game, but I personally don't feel any sexual tension between the two of them. Hook plays eyebrows and long stares with love interests and he wears his heart on his sleeve. Be it violent or loving, it's always out in the open. Speaking of, Killian will do ANYTHING to get to Rumple, Rumple did kill the love of his life, so if killing Rumple's love is the cost, then so be it (or so Hook thinks at this time). But try to remember that Belle was in Regina's tower, not Maurice's.

Queen of Hearts- Thank you so much for another fun reaction, for another of my all time favorite episodes within season two, Jessie!!! :) I love, love, love this episode so much! It is so exciting and beautiful from beginning to end. First... I am so happy that you are still enjoying Hook's character, in spite of being angry with him because of how he treats Belle!! Because he's absolutely my favorite character in all of Once Upon a Time. Hook is "devilishly handsome", complex, intriguing, flirty, smug, charming, and so much more. And Hook is also a villain, as he has been for well over two hundred years thanks to his time spent in Neverland while seeking revenge against Rumplestiltskin. Time in which his hatred for his enemy and his darkness has only grown and festered. So I understand why Hook does all he does. However, whenever I watch these last few episodes, I always get a sense that there's more to him than meets the eyes. That there's still a good man buried deep down inside of him that we see a bit of throughout most of the previous episode... Tallahassee, where Hook and Emma climb the beanstalk and seek out the compass, as well as in this episode too. In his eyes, as Hook speaks with Emma to plead with her not to leave him locked inside the giants' lair, there is genuine affection for Emma in them. Like I've said before, I certainly understand why Emma betrays Hook first because he is a villain she couldn't risk trusting after they met only a short time earlier. However, there is more to Hook than meets the eye and I do believe him when he says there is some honor inside of him, even though he hasn't shown it since their adventure shown in Tallahassee. Now as for Queen of Hearts... I love that this episode answers so many open questions... How Hook is able to rip out Aurora's heart in Into the Deep, how Hook and Cora weren't taken by the curse as is mentioned by Smee back in The Crocodile, how Regina believed her mother to be dead, and how a small part of the Enchanted Forest had been left untouched by the curse, leaving Hook, Cora, Mulan, Aurora, Phillip, etc... still there while they all remained frozen in time. Absolutely brilliant!! I really enjoy the scene between Emma, Hook, and Cora within Rumple's cell. And like I said in my comments from the last episode, I truly do believe Hook meant what he said to Emma before inside the giants' castle about wanting to help her, because I do believe he liked her and saw something special in her. However, he is deeply angry with Emma for betraying him, and for leaving him behind with the giant, to very possibly be killed, not just by the giant, but possibly by Cora too if the giant really did allow him to live like Emma told Hook he would, because Hook knows he had betrayed Cora when he stole the magical cuff so he could climb the beanstalk with Emma instead of with Cora, and knew she would be angry with him. His life was definitely at risk, and he hates being betrayed, no matter who betrays him. So, his anger towards Emma for me is understandable. Also... Hook has been seeking revenge against Rumplestiltskin for centuries. He would have a difficult time letting his lust for revenge go. So of course Hook is angry with Emma. And I love that Hook stays very true to his character, especially here in this scene. I just love how Hook talks to Emma. It's harsh, but true. Emma shouldn't have abandoned him. If she hadn't, I do fully believe he would still be working with them instead of with Cora. Yes... he may have an ulterior motive that would ultimately help himself to gain his revenge, but he doesn't like Cora at all. He's simply working with her, and using her because she's currently helping him gain his revenge. Plus... Hook had no reason to betray Emma inside the giants' castle because Emma agreed with him to take him along with them to Storybrooke, which is exactly what he wants. And he knows very well that Cora could turn on him at the drop of a hat for any reason. Hook didn't see Emma's betrayal coming at all, because she's a hero. In spite of him being a villain who doesn't trust easily just as Emma doesn't trust easily either, Hook trusted her. This is why her betrayal makes him so angry, and why he's acting so cold towards her. I'm not saying he's in the right, because he's definitely wrong. But this is why I understand him. Now... I absolutely love the battle between everyone in the end. Emma's swordfight against Hook is so much fun. He is so snarky and smooth. I also love how in the middle of it, Hook reaches out with his hook to snatch Aurora's heart before it falls through the portal too, then throws it over to Mulan so she can return it to Aurora, not keep it or throw it over to Cora like he could have done. Showing us yet again that he isn't completely evil, as he states he couldn't let a woman lose her heart, unless of course it were to him, which he says to Emma jokingly. I adore Hook's cheekiness. :) Hook may have played this act off as him simply being smug and as a way to show off, but I also do believe he saves her heart, not to be smug, but because deep down, Hook knows it would be wrong to allow Aurora to lose her heart permanently, and to fall into the hands of whoever might find it wherever her heart were to wind up had he not saved her heart. Also... a part of me feels that Hook throws the fight with Emma on purpose, even though he is struck over the head by the compass. Yes... the impact could have rendered him unconscious as it appears to have done, but even if it did, it wasn't for very long. I sense he was more dazed rather than unconscious. Hook toys with Emma because I sense that a part of him is still impressed by her drive to make it back home to her son, and that he wants to see her succeed even more so than Cora. He might be angry with Emma for leaving him in the giants' castle locked up, but if he really wanted to, he could have killed Emma at any time during their fight and he didn't. Hook is a two hundred year old pirate with lots and lots of experience in swordfighting and battle. Whereas Emma is new to battling against villains and magic. And it is quite clear by how easily he is able to knock her off her feet a number of times that she is inexperienced. Besides, Hook also has the magic bean and knows he could use it if they fail through Cora's way. So Hook stays down. That's just my opinion. You can absolutely judge it for yourself. I also love that Hook has a backup pan. He's definitely one to play on both sides, and he's conniving. :) Now, as for Cora... she also could have easily killed Mary Margaret too, as well as Mulan despite them using Mulan's sword enchanted to deflect dark magic. And while Hook toys with Emma a little because it's the smug kind of guy he is, Cora does so with Mary Margaret to be cruel. That's the big difference between Cora and Hook. They're both villains and do terrible things, but Hook still has a sense of fairness and a moral code. Whereas Cora is evil through and through. I really love the fight between Cora, Mary Margaret, and Mulan too. I love that Mulan's sword has been enchanted to deflect magic, even magic as powerful as Cora's. As for the end of the battle when Cora attempts to finally rip out Snow's heart... I love how Emma steps between her and her mother to protect her mother, not knowing Cora wouldn't be able to rip out her heart. How Emma is willing to sacrifice her life to save Mary Margaret. So powerful and such an amazing scene. And what a reveal to show that Emma has magic inside of her just like we see when Emma touches Regina's arm back in the first episode of this season... Broken, allowing for Regina to get her own magic kickstarted back in this season's premiere. And Emma's magic is certainly powerful enough to blast Cora back long enough for Emma and Mary Margaret to finally jump into the portal with the compass in hand. Brilliant!! There is so much to Emma and her being the Savior, and a product of True Love. And yay!!!! They are finally home!!! Emma and Mary Margaret are reunited with Henry, and Mary Margaret is happily able to give David True Love's Kiss to wake him from his sleeping curse!! Such a beautiful moment between the Charming family and all of their friends!! :) Also... there's a parallel between what David says to his wife in this moment, as he states that the burning room gave him pause after saying he never doubted her... to when Snow awakens in the beginning of the Pilot episode and says to him that she never doubted he'd find her either, although her glass coffin gave her pause. So sweet. I absolutely love this moment. So beautiful. :) Next... I love Emma's talk with Gold in the end. I love how Gold explains to her that he was exactly where he wanted to be at the time of the Dark Curse being casted by Regina. But mostly, I love how Gold tells Emma that she has light magic within her that is separate from her parents' True Love and what he helped her to become in all of his years in planning. It shows just how powerful Emma as the Savior truly is. I agree with you that Emma has such strong and powerful moments throughout this episode, many of which we all can certainly relate to. She doubts herself very deeply, and struggles to believe she's more than just a pawn to be used by anyone who can. And yet... Emma continuously proves herself to everyone that she's so much more than she and they all know. This is why Emma is another of my absolute favorite characters throughout this phenomenal show along with Hook. As for Emma's name written on squid ink over and over found within his cell... this is why Rumplestiltskin was so adamant on getting the name of Snow's and Charming's child when they came to visit him in his cell back in the Pilot episode too. And there's not only one reason for learning Emma's name as is revealed in this episode. So that Rumplestiltskin could be awakened from the curse and his own false memories so early on from the moment he hears Emma introduce herself to Granny's in the Pilot, but also so that Emma would later be able to discover just how powerful she really is so that she can strengthen her resolve to be the Savior she was born to be. This all is absolutely phenomenal!! I feel that perhaps this was Gold's true intention for the squid ink all along. So Emma could find her strength within herself and to see just how powerful she truly is, just like Gold tells her inside his shop in the end. Just like Emma had, once they use the ink to free themselves. Not by using it against Cora. Now... I also absolutely love a second parallel throughout this episode too, beginning with Hook's first meeting first with Regina who asked him to kill her mother, then with Hook and Cora who asked him to help her to kill her daughter, even though her plans changed. Absolutely brilliant! And all of their scenes together were so good too! I love seeing his first meeting with both Regina and Cora. As for everyone walking away from Regina at Gold's in the end without asking her to join them... This moment upsets me a bit too. However, I understand why they do. I really don't believe it is meant to be cruel towards Regina. They're all still struggling to look past Regina having been the Evil Queen, including Henry despite him seeing the good in her more than anyone else. Even though they can see her trying to change too. However, I also think it has to do with the fact that Emma and Mary Margaret have spent so much time in the Enchanted Forest trying to fight against Cora. And while Regina isn't Cora, Regina was almost just like her and neither Emma nor Mary Margaret have really seen Regina's change of heart in spite of them being told that Regina had saved them. With all this in mind, the women probably didn't want to be around Regina for a time until they understand better that she's trying hard to change, and after spending so much time with Cora. I hope this makes sense. And then... I also love the parallel between Cora casting the spell over the part of the land where she and Hook were to protect themselves from Regina's curse, which in turn protects those within that area of Cora's protection such as Mulan, Phillip, and Aurora, etc..., to Regina and Gold casting their curse over the portal in Storybrooke to try to prevent Cora from coming over from the Enchanted Forest. But what's even more amazing was seeing Regina break it in order to save Emma and Mary Margaret for Henry despite Gold's warning, believing in Henry like he pleaded her to do. It shows just how much she loves her son. So beautiful. I love the interactions between Regina and Gold throughout this episode. In regards to how Emma, Mary Margaret, and Mulan are able to find Hook and Cora, and how Ruby and Henry are able to find Regina and Gold... Ruby has her heightened sense of smell from being part wolf, so she most likely sniffs Regina and Gold out to find them at the well. And Mary Margaret, or Snow rather, is an excellent tracker thanks to Red teaching how to be as is shown back in season one's episode... Red-Handed. So Mary Margaret most likely uses her skills as such to track down Hook and Cora at Lake Nostos. And even though Hook's cruelty towards Belle in the very beginning makes me mad at him, it shows he's still willing to do whatever it takes to gain his revenge against Rumplestiltskin. And I love the opening scene with Hook killing Regina's black knights outside of Belle's prison inside Regina's castle, and him coming to Belle for information about the Dark One's dagger by pretending to want to help her. And clearly Hook doesn't take too kindly to being called a slave like he was when the guard called him such, after which Hook swiftly kills him with his hook. By the way... Belle is locked up inside Regina's castle by Regina, not because of her father. Regina does lie to Rumple about her father locking her up just like you thought. And she knew she could get away with lying to him, because Regina knew exactly where Belle really was. Locked away in one of her dungeons. And lastly... I love seeing the end shot with the Jolly Roger suddenly appearing through the fog out on the ocean, with Hook and Cora above deck once Hook regenerates the magic bean through the waters of Lake Nostos. Amazing shot! And I love that it's because of Hook's ingenuity that allows him and Cora to get to Storybrooke, and not Cora's plan after everything. Oh... and in regards to the portals with Emma and Mary Margaret needing the compass to pass through their portal in Lake Nostos, while Hook and Cora no longer had the compass for their portal with the magic bean... Portals from different ways of magic have different ways of working. We've seen multiple versions of portals before... In season one's Pilot when Emma is transported through the wardrobe as a baby after her father puts her inside the wardrobe and when Geppetto does the same with Pinocchio in season one's episode, The Stranger. We've seen another portal when Bae fell through the portal after Rumple let his son go shown in season one's... The Return, again through Jefferson's hat that allows the Mad Hatter to portal jump in multiple episodes, as well as through the looking glass that forced Cora through a portal that brought her to Wonderland where she then becomes the Queen of Hearts... shown back in season two's episode... We Are Both, when Regina forces Cora through the mirror Rumplestiltskin gives to her. In this episode, along with thinking of Storybrooke, the compass makes it possible for Emma and Mary Margaret to return to Storybrooke because I believe that the magic of the wardrobe collected from the wardrobe's ash after the wardrobe had been destroyed, caused the portal to become unsteady unlike it had been when Emma passed through the wardrobe to our world as a baby. The compass acts as a way to guide them to their destination they are thinking of and keeps them on their path so they don't wind up in some random world. However, with magic beans... all one has to do to wind up where they wish to go, is for them to be thinking of the place in their minds, as both Hook and Cora had been in order to find their own way to Storybrooke. Again... I hope this explanation makes sense. At last... Captain Hook and Cora have arrived in Storybrooke and Hook is ready to confront his Crocodile at last!!! Fabulous!! I love this episode so much!! And I can't wait for more!! Thank you again for another reaction for Once Upon a Time, Jessie!! Until next time, dear friend... Sincerely, Heidi

Jessie, You are WAY TOO YOUNG to remember "Two of Hearts"! LOL. Stacey Q- did that song back in 1986! Your parents must have had you listening to all the fun music of the 80's! Anyway- Now, I've got that song stuck in my head... Thanks for that! LOL.

I also feel bad for Regina that she didn't get invited out to dinner after trying so hard to not use magic and after saving Snow and Emma. However, if they did and they showed her being happy, then there would be no need for Cora, thus no Hook and Cora in Storybrooke. Now that's not to say if she DID get invited to dinner and Cora and Hook still showed up, that Cora wouldn't manipulate Regina into thinking she (Regina) needs her (Cora,) but of course the writers didn't take it that way.

Steve C

Sorry, Jessie, but I just wanted to correct you on a couple of your mis-observations. I was gonna wait until this episode was on YouTube, but I decided to just go ahead and do it here. First, Rumple said that no one coming through the portal would survive. The reason why it didn't kill Regina is because she didn't go through it; she merely used her powers to disable it. I'm sure it was still pretty physically traumatizing for her though. The other thing is that the story of Belle being locked in a tower be her father was most certainly a lie. Regina was the one who locked up Belle, and that tower was in her castle, not Maurice's.
