the show is set in present day (2023). i think that was just a movie theater that plays old movies. they explain the exact timeline with dates soon. charles died in the 80s hence his style (and crystal asking if girls in the 80s fell for that fit line) and you’re right edwin did mention the puppy debacle of 94. you probably recognize david the demon because he’s played by the actor who plays cam cameron in tsitp. i watched the whole series knowing his voice but it not clicking til i looked it up. i love all the characters but edwin is so special to me. it really does suck he was sacrificed to a demon and had to spend over 70 years in hell for nothing.

As always amazing reaction Jessie! I love Neil Gaiman (and Neil Gaiman adjacent, as while he created those characters originally he does not have much involvement in this tv production) works, as like you said it is usually very unique world creation. I was expecting to love Charles, I was not expecting to love Edwin as much. Really great and fun show and I keep hoping it will get second season.
