There are a lot of rumours going on that we might finally get a 2nd season. Since Kenny Ortega is out of his Netflix contract now and a bunch of the actors started talking about the show again. It might just be wishful thinking, but maybe? That´s also the reason why I requested the show now, I´m currently back to obsessing over the show lol.

Ahh, I´m so nostalgic for this show! I adore everything about it, the music, the actors, everything is great! Julie´s actress is so impressive, she was just 16 when they filmed this and she nailed it. Fun fact, all of them, so Julie and the guys, all played their instruments live while filming, obviously they used pre recorded audio for the actual scene, but they still performed the songs when filming the scenes, which makes it feel more authentic, like you can see them glance at their instruments sometimes because they still have to play and don´t just move their fingers and pretend to do it.

Oh and fun fact. They actually sang a lot of the music live, and they play the instruments themselves!!

They actually melded in parts from the filming, which is why songs like Edge of Great are different from the studio versions.

It's been more than a year since my obsession-driven deep dive with this show so you won't get the same fact dump... but there's still some to say. You talked over the part where they said the opening performance was a sound check. The women in line were actually there for their show. The band was supposed to be very popular locally (per the books) and about to get their big break with that very concert. For your question - they never said in the show, but in the books Julie's mom died of cancer.

Also, Madison was 15 when they filmed... 14 when she got the role and 16 when the show actually dropped on Netflix 😅
