Gumpa did get that White was not the same Black which is why he reintroduced himself and asked him to stay at the garage so he could help train him. Also what I think about Sean's feelings for Black is that he didn't have a good relationship with Black as you see in the first episode where they dislike each other but now that White has become Black and the way that he acts and his whole vibe is different, I think Sean has picked up on that but doesn't know why he is different. I think Sean is trying to treat White the way he was treating Black like with the fighting but the way that White responds is not how Black would have responded and so Sean is starting to fall for this new version of Black which is White but never felt these feelings with Black as Black.
