This entire story is so interesting, this is really just the first layer of it all. It was also very interesting for me to watch because something similar to this whole thing happened where I grew up. I'll avoid details just cause, but a guy I went to high school with (whose mother worked with and played cards with my mom) ended up being arrested after another guy went missing. This family owned one of the biggest companies where I lived and owned a lot of land for that company. It later came out that the father had helped hide some stuff and the company's property was hiding a lot of things. But it really rattled the community because this was a "good, well-off family", and he ended up being charged with that guy's murder and another attempted murder from a year or so before, as well as some other charges. Their reputation was definitely different from the Murdaugh's, who people definitely seemed more scared of than this family I knew, but so much of that family's wrongdoings were hidden due to their money and power in the community, and it was mind-boggling to find out everything that had been going on. I only really knew the mom, who was never charged or in legal trouble after this all like the father was, but it was so strange to just think back to that family. I can only imagine that how we felt is only a fraction of that this town felt when everything came out with the Murdaugh's.

this is an absolutely wild case. i'm glad you're watching this. i ALWAYS want to see more people reacting to docuseries like this or The Program (also on Netflix). they're so interesting, but nobody ever reacts to them
