(As Morgyn Ember has no background story, i wanted to give them little something. All we know is that Morgyn has no family, has some feminine outfit preference options and as far as we know, Morgyn might be identifying as non-binary, transgender or intersex. There's no clear info about it. So i tried to stick to that part. Throughout the story, you'll see that they are figuring themselves out. You can change it up to anything in your game.)

Morgyn is coming from a highborn family. A silver spoon in his mouth and a wand on his hand, best magicians existing educated him from a young age. However, he wasn't really that good at being a magician. Maybe, he wasn't meant to be as great as his parents.

All of Morgyn's younger siblings were doing great. They were clearly born for being witches and wizards. All they were talking about was magic, creatures and brewing potions. No wonder why they had so many friends. Despite of having this much of privilege, it wouldn't give Morgyn some sort of epic talents all of a sudden. Neither it would give friends. He felt like he "managed" to be the worst child as the eldest son of his family. He felt like a failure.

During his education years, his family was slowly getting fed up with Morgyn. They were thinking that Morgyn wasn't trying hard enough and being a spoiled brat. He was not worthy to keep the family legacy alive in his parents' eyes. Things were going worse and everything was drowning deeper Morgyn each passing day.

In his late teen years, he discovered himself even more. Morgyn wasn't like the rest in many ways. He was doing better in magic as a late bloomer. However, he figured that the main problem was not his talent or anything. The truth was, he had to accept who is and had to make peace with what he has.

When he opened up to his parents about how he hated being labeled and forced to marry a noble family's eldest daughter to keep a pure and noble blood line soon, his parents went crazy! His father casted a curse on him to never find happiness not when he's alive nor when he goes to other side.

With teary eyes, Morgyn was packing his outfits into a small suitcase and he was still hearing his parents' insulting words from downstairs. He couldn't take it anymore and wanted to make them stop!

NOT. ANYMORE!

He stormed downstairs to the room where all his family gathered angrily and casted a spell that can't be undone. An ancient spell from the Book of the Shadows. After he spelled magic words, a flaming shadow took shape right around him and exploded quickly. Seconds later he realized what he had done. All of his family was collapsed on the floor.

They were not moving.

They stopped talking as he wished..

Forever.

Regret.. sorrow.. despair.. none of them would bring his family back.

He had to get a grip fast!

He stole his father's necklace. An ancient hallow red gem was attached to it. It was the gem of strength. It enhanced Morgyn's power. He ran away from his nightmare of a house and never returned.

A decade later, Morgyn became much better of a magician and became who they really are. And buried their dark past deep down and never spoke what they had done ever again. They swore an oath to never be restrained with labels and never bow down to anyone who tries to look down on them.

Morgyn found their way up to Academy of Magic, which is in Glimmerbrook and taught Untamed Magic to younglings who were oppressed by the world. There would be no more obstacles for the ones who had to hide in the shadows.
