I keep forgetting that Patreon works like social media and that I should post here too. I’m gonna try to post my weekly public doodles here too from today onward! Anyway, here’s today’s post…

In case you didn’t know, Drosera is a venus flytrap! Before she was captured, she lived a happy life in the bogs of what used to be North Carolina. That’s where real life venus flytraps grow naturally! Real life ones are also a vulnerable species (which means “endangered but not that badly”), hence why Drosaera lives alone in her little claim of territory. Snakes pose no real threat to the plant people since their venom is specialized to work against animal tissues, so Drosera is free to play dress up with this copperhead as she pleases. When the sun sets, she retreats to her shipwrecked boat on the shore to sleep. It’s a carefree rural life she lived there!

I want to start doing more with this cactus story of mine. Perhaps I could make comics again? I think that would be a neat way to tell the tale. However things play out, expect to see more of Drosera and the others that share her universe in the coming weeks!

Be kind to yourselves out there, and I’ll see ya next week 🩷
