I didn't enjoy this round very much because I don't like arguments or yelling. (I love debates, but those are different.) I think it's a very important part of the story, though. At first, I was struggling to see where Mr. Hoodie is coming from. Why can't he just break it into smaller pieces, like show her a way to counter throw A, have her practice it until she can pull it off thoughtlessly, add in throw B, randomly switch between the two until she can counter them and throw him, etc., etc.? And then I thought about an experience I had trying to teach an elementary school child about multiplication. I had a bit of a hard time with that. I just... didn't understand how to explain it in a way that this kid understood beyond counting up the numbers one by one. There's SO many cool things about math, but... a lot of those basic building blocks had been etched into my brain so long ago, I'd forgotten about how I struggled with them. I understand math -- but I don't understand how to teach it. At least, not at the level that kid needed. Teaching (blank) is basically its own field beyond (blank). There's a whole field of physics education, where people experiment and study how to best teach physics. How do you teach a thing so that someone else understands that thing? Anyway, after all of this musing, I feel like I understand where Mr. Hoodie is coming from. That said, I really want him to have better conflict resolution skills. Maybe also have the humility to research how to teach better.

Ooooh conflict!!! Complex feelings and emotions popping up and their bumping heads!!! I really appreciate that it’s not always smooth sailing for these two- and that how they communicate/resolve (or not!) this conflict will make or break their relationship. Ooooh I just love it! And especially seeing Jun’s ANGER. She’s so sweet and passive but oh ho! There’s a lot that she pushes below the surface and it’s so satisfying to see her let it out.
