I present the winner of the February fan art poll!

I guess she quit smoking and developed a different habit. Somehow, I blame 4kids.

Anyway, I never got around to watching Black Lagoon; I have a friend who's really into it but it just didn't click with me at the time I tried to watch it. Probably need to give it another shot! Regardless, this was a lot fun; thanks again to everyone who voted. Next week I'm going to try to get back into Genshin with Yae Miko plus!

WOOO YES DUDE. And yeah it’s kind of a weird show, really tryhard edginess, some strange(uncomfortable) plot points. Definitely doesn’t feel like something that would be made today, being super crass and stuff. But it’s very charming and well animated, sick action and intriguing enough writing make it worth watching IMO.

I had a very similar reaction to Blue Lagoon! It was stylish and the characters seemed promising at first, but the longer it went, I ended up feeling like there just wasn't that much going on there. Kinda like it wanted to be Cowboy Bebop but it didn't have enough ideas and defaulted to Revy jumpin' around shooting stuff and swearing

Thanks! :3 Yeah, It was actually the edgy stuff that put me off the first time around. I was kind of new to anime and the friend mentioned above is a huuuge Revy stan (he actually purchased plastic, pearl-white grips for his beretta to imitate her gun). He kind of oversold the series to me going in which didn't help. >_>; But yeah, regardless, this was probably a decade ago and my tastes have evolved since then so I think I will take the recommend and give it another try here soon... ish. (I have like... 60 series on my MAL list, it ain't even funny. XD )

Yeah... Revy being the "Crass, Action-Girl Yandere With Maybe A Secret Vulnerable Side" was sort of the thing that I found most grating at the time. I remember this scene with her jumping from speed boat to speed boat blowing stuff up with a grenade launcher and just feeling... no suspension of disbelief whatsoever. XD That said... I was honestly bit of a pretentious twit in my early 20's and my tastes have changed in the decade since then, so maybe I'll find something to like on a fresh attempt. ... whenever I get around to making time for it that is. There's way too many anime on my list XD
