So I've become a HUGE fan of the Santa Frances comics by Jean Frédéric Koné and I gotta say that even though the art is absolutely stunning, it's the writing that got me! If you've never read Santa Frances, I STRONGLY suggest giving it a go as it's a story full of drama written on a level that I dream of reaching one day. And on top of that, Finn, Nik, Alek, and Markus have appeared as a cameo in one of his episodes. This is sincerely one of the highlights of my work on Cabaret Bara.

Now regarding my take on the art style, I must apologize cause I know it's not very accurate. Don't get me wrong, I think the result is aesthetically pleasing, but I think it looks too much like black & white Cabaret Bara art and not quite like a Santa Frances panel. The inking especially was a challenge for me. You see, I have two modes:  my regular "tons of line weight fluctuations" mode or the "I turned off pressure sensitivity on my tablet" mode. Now the inking for Santa Frances is very organic, but also very consistent so there is a bit of playing with line weight, but not as much as I instinctively do. And sadly, as I was inking the piece, I kinda half fell back into my own usual inking style. With that being said, I think that the darker nose and the "manga" eyes suit Finn really nicely and enhance his puppy dog look. So I'm still pretty happy with the result.

As a side note, I think that Finn would make a great, stable, reliable boyfriend for Cobb... If we put aside the whole double life as a sex worker and a superhero part.

I almost missed it too because it happened after I became less active on IG. I'm so grateful he tagged me in it. And he doesn't know, but this cameo spawned a whole AU fanfic of Finn+Cobb in my head lol.
