PERSONA

Chéri and Záchari were in the backseat of Nik’s car howling with laughter as Nik drove  everyone home from Comme Glamour where they had just watched Karim perform as  Maybelline LePêche. Behind the wheel, Nik was smiling and letting a little chuckle escape  every once in a while. Finn was hunched in the passenger seat, scowling.
 

“Come on, Finn,” Nik said, putting his hand on Finn’s knee. “You have to admit it’s a  little bit funny. Even Karim laughed a bit.”

“I’ve never been so embarrassed,” Finn growled.

“Oh stop,” Nik responded, giving Finn’s thigh a squeeze.

“Hey Finn,” Záchari said elbowing Chéri in the arm, replaying the events that had just  passed. “It’s kinda cool seeing Karim in his drag persona outside of work, huh?” Chéri deepened his voice a bit. “What’s a persona? Oh… of course, duh! It’s a female  person.” 

The faeries fell over themselves laughing again. Up front, Nik snorted once. Finn buried  his face in his hands.
