Hi all! So I was looking for Watchmen to stream online... and the Director's Cut is not available. Only through disc. We stopped reacting to disc a long time ago due to sync issues with our FULL UNCUT Reactions. That and disc tends to stutter a bit when we watch. Any tips on where to stream it online? The theatrical release is on HBO Max.

Is it a big deal if we just watch the theatrical version instead? Thanks for your input!

This is the second movie that is hard to find. Other movies with directors cuts we normally find through Amazon.

Thanks all!

I found Watchmen Director's Cut on Vudu and Google Play

Honestly if you can’t get the Director’s Cut, you’re best off just watching the Ultimate Cut. It has all the scenes from the Director’s Cut and all that’s added is a short little section that’s just about five minutes or so. So it’s not too much longer and you’ll be able to see everything that you need to.

The Director's Cut is on Amazon Prime Video. Check if it's available in your location.

In my opinion the theatrical release is fine but the director's cut is amazing, so yeah maybe you could do the "ultimate cut" which is the longest of the 3 versions 🤷‍♂️ it is not ideal but sadly it's all I've got

I'd say the theatrical cut is fine. Watchmen is already long enough 😅

I suppose the theatrical release would have to do then. The Ultimate Cut's additional content can be a bit jarring. Cannot believe the Director's Cut is suddenly impossible to find on streaming sites...

imo the theatrical isn't so fine. even though a couple of the things could have safely remained removed, a lot of the other stuff is too important to the characters, story and world. I met many people who's confusion and misunderstandings was assuaged a little in the director's cut because of the uncut context, things like what characters know, we get more about one character and what he believes which is important to the climax etc. Sometimes an extra 20 minutes goes a long way. The original comic was considered unfilmable for a long time for a reason lol. Are you sure you can't find it? It seems to be on Amazon Prime, to buy/rent. https://www.amazon.com/Watchmen-Directors-Cut-Malin-Akerman/dp/B002DPCTZE

It's interesting that you guys stopped doing discs due to sync issues because with Disney+ sync for me is never the same if I start sync with "And play!". My loading time is always faster than the reactions on Disney +. I've always synced with either the Disney + and/or Lucasfilm/Marvel logo.

Some films on HBO Max have a director's cut hidden in the extras menu, does Watchmen not have one there? :s

Thanks for your feedback YodatheHobbit! The AND PLAY won't have a perfect sync unfortunately at the beginning because of different load times, but we try to add elements to make it easier. The odd thing with discs is every player runs slightly different- whether faster or slower than someone elses... only by a fraction of a second... but it causes the content to constantly go out of sync every few minutes all the way through the reaction for some people. Ever since we started streaming... I believe most viewers do the same so it runs the same speed after it loads initially.

Any luck with True Lies?

Maybe a VPN will enable you to switch locations. Cycle to different countries until you find one where it's available. If you don't have a VPN I highly recommend you get one, it also makes you relatively anonymous and makes it near impossible for people to get your IP address. A good one is Private internet access which I use, but ExpressVPN, NordVPN etc are also meant to be good. I'm not familiar with Amazon and whether you're locked in to a region unable to change or not.

I see. In case you can't get a hold of it in any other platform, it's fine if you guys react to the theatrical version that is available on HBO Max.
