I feel like you're a bit too harsh on Trish. The inhaler doesn't make her insane, or give her the strength of Jessica's mom. So she won't just randomly kill someone. But she's tired of everyone trying to "protect" her. It can start to feel patronizing, feeling like you can never do anything. The inhaler makes her feel like she can do things. The bad part is her issues with addiction coming back up. But thats not all her fault. Addiction in and of itself is like a demon. Its not really the addicts fault for needing a drug or alcohol, because they don't think straight. It's literally like a disease. I know you're nervous, but Trish at her core doesn't want to feel like someone's puppet, incapable of doing things for herself. Look at her childhood. She was a puppet of her mom and a victim of the show business. Right now, she is lost, just like Malcolm was in season 1.
