Wow! Since becoming a patron, I can't remember being more surprised to see a reaction pop up. There haven't been very many people asking for Passengers, and it's done so poorly in the polls, I figured it never stood a chance. By the way, I know you're watching it in less-than-optimal circumstances now, but if you ever get a chance to see Passengers with a really good surround system, it really is an experience. The music score by Thomas Newman combined with the ambient sound effects and the movie's visuals - it really immerses you into the story.

Omgggg!!!! Never thought I'd see a reaction to this I'm so freaking excited! Glad you guys enjoyed it. I really like this movie and I usually like the movies that get bad reviews lol. Critics suck anyways and I never follow what they say. I can't even imagine the loneliness and like dawn said you can't escape from the ship, that's all you have, so yes what Jim did was incredibly selfish and horrible but the desperation would drive you insane. Humans need other humans. So glad this finally got picked randomly 😁 I'm hoping someday the same will happen for the Maze Runner, really think you guys would enjoy the whole trilogy! (The main character is the same actor from love and monsters)

Great to see a reaction to this when it was not popular in the recent polls. Hope some of my selections eventually get chosen here as well!

Update: I'm so glad you enjoyed this movie. The moral quandary you discussed afterwards was I think one of the reasons many people rejected it. It’s true that what Jim did in waking up Aurora was very wrong. Some folks couldn't get past that. For me, I can accept both things: [A] Yes, it was wrong. [B] It’s still a good movie. I think with movies that ask you come to terms with a main character doing something indefensible – it comes down to whether you think that decision is an impossible hurdle to get over as a viewer, or if it simply lends complexity to the story. I'm obviously in the second camp. And the movie offers so much. The utterly immersive “world” of the ship. The other “what would you do” questions it offers (as Dawn phrased them). I mean besides the central one of whether you’d wake up Aurora. Questions like how would it be to say goodbye to everyone you know. Or how you could make a meaningful life for yourself stuck in the same environment for decades. With Passengers offering all this, it won me over to the point that I felt the love story was a satisfying one. (In Passenger’s defense, “Beauty and the Beast” also falls in this category of “relationship with a problematic foundation.” Many labelled Belle’s love for the Beast a form of Stockholm syndrome, but it’s still a beloved movie.) Watching Passengers again with you guys also made me realize just how important the casting was. Jennifer Lawrence SELLS absolutely everything. From her rage at finding out Jim’s secret, to her realizing that she’d be devastated to lose him. Likewise, Chris Pratt comes across as inherently earnest and good-intentioned. If it were any other actor, the wrongness of him waking up Aurora really WOULD be an impossible hurdle to get over.

Such an awesome surprise!!! One thing I look forward to is waking up on the weekend to see what movie reaction will be up. And then later watching it. Soooooo much emotion this movie brought. Sadness, guilt, love, shock, scared to one of the happiness endings ever. Love these two actors, and great reaction as always!!!

It's really good to know that you don't soley rely on the polls to choose what to watch. There are a lot of underrated movies and TV shows which are largely ignored or forgotten but are actually quite good.
