Tobey Maguire, got me into the character and those movies have a certain magical charm to them that only Sam Raimi knows how to execute on film

The character from the 90's cartoon you were thinking of was Felicia Hardy. Gwen only showed up in the final episode of that series in a very minor role. These 2 movies came out before Spider-Gwen first appeared, so if you do react to the sequel, don't expect Spider-Gwen any time soon. In the comics, she was infamously kidnapped by the Green Goblin, who threw her off the Brooklyn Bridge and when Spider-Man caught her with a strand of webbing, the force of which it caught her at the speed she was falling caused the whiplash to snap her neck and kill her, meaning Spider-Man accidentilally killed his own girlfriend. This is what we call the "Women In Refrigerators" trope where a female love interest of a main protagonist is killed, raped, brutalized, brainwashed, etc. by the protagonist's enemy just to hurt them. And if you' re wondering where the term came from, it's from a Green Lantern comic where Green Lantern found his girlfriend killed and stuffed in a fridge. Not kidding. This was a thing

Tom, Toby then Andrew are my favorite in that order. I still like these movies. think they are definitely worth a watch. Im a sucker for anything Spider-Man.

I actually really liked Andrew as spider man and I hate seeing his movies get so much hate. They were better than the Toby ones for me

All three are just amazing in their own way personally aha! I agree with everyone Spiderman is my favorite hero overall.

The Toby Spidey came out before the idea of an MCU was conceived. The Andrew Spidey was basically Sony Entertainment trying to keep the rights to the franchise. When those rights expired by failing to make a 3rd movie, the franchise was taken by Disney and was rebooted again into Tom Spidey so it could be tied into the MCU. I dunno. I like Spiderman as a character, but I stopped caring for his movies since they've been diluted into shallow pop extravaganza. As an example, I remember the "power and responsibility" speech Uncle Ben said in the first Toby movie which carried so much weight that it drove the rest of the trilogy forward. But when they tried to recreate that moment in the Andrew movie it felt flat. And the Tom movies basically just felt shallow and immature, with a ton of woke Hollywood propaganda weaved in. The fact that they turned MJ into this weird SJW chick was the final nail in the coffin for me.

Tobey Maguire’s always been my favourite Spider-Man, but I don’t hate the others. The others have their own positives. It’s just I grew up with the Tobey Maguire version, I also feel like there’s more growth, more character building in the Sam Rami versions. Like, Spider-Man 2 was SUCH an emotional rollercoaster. So good. And so many great moments as well.

This is my favorite version of Spider-Man!

I think you guys misinterpreted the ending between Peter and Gwen. The teacher says "Don't make promises you can't keep, Mr. Parker", and Peter responds "Yeah, but those are the best kind." Thst was Peter basically saying he doesn't plan on keeping his promise to her dad about staying away from her, and that's why Gwen then smiled afterwards.

Andrew is my favorite because he's an amazing actor whenever he cries I feel it yano but the movie overall to me is medicore

Tobey Maguire, in my opinion his Spider-Man movies are the best. Felicia Hardy is the character that becomes Black Cat.

I have to say that I like Andrew Garfield the most and I don't understand why people don't like the movie.

When the firs Tobey Maguire movie came out, I thought it was great. The second one was pretty good. The third one though, I thought was so bad. Now when I watch the first one, it just makes me think of a power rangers episode. The costumes were pretty bad. I actually really liked this one. Still, compared to Tom Holland, I don't really think the previous ones compare. In my opinion, the previous ones made them with the idea that they were comic book movies. Meaning, I think they wanted them to feel like comic books in a way. A bit cartoonish. I think one of the things the MCU did right that many other production companies still don't get, is to treat them like real movies. It's more scifi, where people just live in a universe where the extraordinary is possible. Still, I always like rewatching this one. Plus it helps that they have Dennis Leary in this one. He has that biting sarcastic tone that just seems to pop in the shows he's in. So that helps out a lot too.

Tobey. The only Spiderman movie I went and seen in theater. Wasn't fully accurate but the most fun Spiderman movie.

Andrew is the best Spider-Man, however, I don't like some of the origin story changes. I prefer the Raimi Spider-Man world/story but Tobey is by far the most overrated version of Peter Parker.
