Every Monday after the first week of the month- There will be POLLS to VOTE from and to make REQUESTS!

REQUESTS made on this POST makes it a lot easier for us to find and add to our LIST!

Feel free to make REQUESTS in the comments below!

We are open minded to changes as we use your advice and ideas for guidance. There are very diverse opinions about all POLLS, so we have been trying our best to make this fun for all of us!

Personally I'd like to see a few reactions not in the polls: Halloween 2018(direct sequel to original 1978 movie) Detroit Rock City(1999) - comedy based in the 70's revolving around rock group KISS Mortal Kombat(1995) Dumb and Dumber Ace Ventura True Lies The Conjuring Insidious

Whiplash

FEARLESS (1993): This is NOT the Jet Li action movie. It’s a low-key character drama starring Jeff Bridges as a survivor to a plane crash and as a result, develops a sort of messiah complex. I can promise you right now, this won’t win any polls. But I think you’d all find it engaging, and it would be a real change of pace to the popcorny stuff. GATTACA (1997): Sci-fi movie starring Ethan Hawke and Uma Thurman. (Fun fact: real-life parents of “Robin” from Season 3 of Stranger Things.) The tone of this is lovely – a cross between futuristic dystopia and film noir. The minimalist sets, cinematography and the haunting music score sets this movie apart from a lot of other sci-fi. 10 CLOVERFIELD LANE (2016): I’ve requested this a number of times. No, this story isn't a continuation to the previous movie simply called “Cloverfield.” In fact, I’d prefer that you watch this movie first, because it’s a standalone story, and if you go into it thinking it IS related to that other 2008 movie, you’ll likely second-guess where the plot is going and it’ll detract from the experience. This is an interesting spin on the “person held captive” premise. Mary Elizabeth Winstead (who you saw in Scott Pilgrim) gets in a car accident and wakes up in a basement somewhere. A grizzled John Goodman claims he saved her life.

Darius.

Yo quick question, I know this is random but I'm curious, what criteria do you use when recommending Movies?

WastedPo

I think I tend to request movies that: [a] I personally like and am currently into... [b] Aren't the same big blockbusters that have been done over and over again on all channels. (There's a good chance the ladies will end up reacting to those anyway.) [c] Movies that I think they would find entertaining. (Though I always type descriptions about the movies in the hopes they'll read them and get in the best mindset possible for enjoying them. Just a little bit of context, without spoiling much.)

George Bean

Yes, definitely Lethal Weapon, and also Bad Boys II, in addition

Darius.

Hey, sorry with a late reply, I've been trying to find time & thinking of a suitable response. To be honest, it seems I'm an oddball, though similar; most of these Folks aren't thinking like that & are going for Popular Culture. For me personally, I'm coming from the perspective with Cinema as an Art Form. I choose Movies I like, but also choose ones I feel represent the best of Cinema. You can think of it as a special 'Top 10'. 10 being Spectacles that have depth, with 1 being Movies that have something to say, or serious Storytelling. They haven't even touched the surface, it's not their fault, it's ours lol. Ever since I started watching the Storm Crew, I remember them saying they weren't really heavy Movie watchers & haven't seen any Visual Media up until they started their Channel. I figured I'd insert my 2 cents & expose them to Cinema not always shown. Media nowadays though, it's basically Spectacles everywhere. People are eating it up, what's new, what's popular, that's all anyone ever talks about: Pop Cinema has turned into profitable entertainment value & that's not what it was in the beginning. We as supporters are just too divided.

WastedPo

I definitely hear you on hoping they'd react to a few more obscure titles and ones that are less spectacle. Unfortunately while my suggestions have often ended up on polls, they've never won. I can understand them going for the more mainstream fare, as I'm sure those titles appeal to the most amount of people and pull in the most clicks for Youtube. But I still wish they'd let their own innate curiosity take over once in a while and just react to a smaller title for the heck of it. This is partly my motivation for including descriptions with my suggestions. Under normal circumstances, people elect to watch movies after having their interest piqued in some way. Of course, if the ladies remain "blind" to every movie out there, they're never going to be inclined to go outside what's already familiar to them.
