To get a red kyber crystal you have to do a process got "bleeding" where you pour all your hate and dark side into the crystal. Kylo Ren's for example cracked because of his inner conflict.

I know that this has been said, but here is a recap of the color of sabers. The crystal make a connection to the subconscious of the jedi. It feels their force. It's color represents what that jedi is. Blue- warrior. These jedi spend more time practicing with the lightsaber. They are quick to use their sabers Green- learner. Not student but one who seeks knowledge. These jedi study the force more than fighting. One of the most accurate green blades is Qui-gon Jinn. He used the force to help him and was the first jedi to remain conscious through the force after death. Red- As trevor stated, these are kyber crystals that have been cracked with the dark side. These crystals bleed. It takes a lot of anger and hate to make a crystal bleed. Purple- Samual jackson wanted a purple one so he could find himself in the arena scene in episode 2. The canon reason is that he uses form 7 lightsaber combat. This form uses the dark side to give power to the user. It is very dangerous. Windu uses this by using his opponent's darkside to give himself power. He feeds on his opponent's anger. He combine good (blue) and evil (red) to make purple. Yellow- sentinels. These jedi protect the jedi temple. And rey, for some reason. (I think she should have purple. She is a palpatine, she has his power but she uses it for good.) Black- I don't know what made it black. The darksaber is the only black lightsaber. More will be learned in the future. White- [REDACTED FOR SPOILERS] These are all the canon colors I can think of.

I don't have the time to write the in-depth comment that I want to, however, I will just say that I can't wait for you 3 to start Star Wars: Rebels! Obviously, I'm excited for you to experience the rest of the Clone Wars series, especially the final season which I believe you'll be starting at the beginning of June. So, I could be wrong but I think you're going to finish the series mid-July, since the last to seasons are short ones.
