Andy and Red! best movie friends of all time!

What a surprise!! Best movie of all time for me personally. You guys should watch Saving Private Ryan as well.

Gotta check out Man on Fire, best Denzel Washington movie.

I'm guessing Red did get his parole because the times have changed and this time the committee was more progressive. That and his truly sincere speech. I saw bits of this through my childhood too. Remember that part with a tunnel behind the poster looked very cool :) I think i actually sat to watch it full a few years ago. Watched it again with you today. Great movie and reaction ;)

RX2904

These are the kinds of movies I hope you watch more of. One of the highest scores on IMdB, an all time classic and a true must-see on the cinephile bucket list. People keep suggesting things like Kill Bill or Starship Troopers and I always wonder if they care at all about your Mom or just want "their kind of movie" to be watched. Shawshank was a great choice, Dawn!

I love Shawshank, but I wouldn't tout its or any other movie's IMDB score. Anyone can go on there and give a movie a score, regardless if they've seen it or not. Plus, all movies are subjective, so a movie like Shawshank is no more valid than a movie like Starship Troopers for them to watch.

Cool surprise but I feel the need. The need...for speed.

Stephan King wrote the book that this was based on. It's very true to the book, they changed almost nothing.

Really glad you guys finally got a chance to watch and react to this film. It's definitely an all-time classic for me. Can't wait for your Top Gun reaction! One of my all-time favorite films. Not sure what you have planned for the next movie poll, but here are some of my movie recommendations: 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, Batman '89, Warrior(2011), The Rock, Bad Boys 2, Face/Off, American Sniper, Real Steel, Pearl Harbor, Footloose(2011 remake), Star Trek ll: The Wrath of Khan, Air Force One, 6 Underground, Con Air, Saving Private Ryan, Masters of the Universe, Aladdin(2019), Justice League, Predator, Step Brothers, Tropic Thunder

George Bean

I strongly believe that The Rock could fit as a double feature alongside Top Gun, since both films involve the military, and both were produced by Bruckheimer. And wonderful choices with Air Force One and Con Air, the latter is something they'd have a ball with. ;D And oh yes, Tropic Thunder. "I'm a dude playing a dude disguised as another dude."

Come to think of it, I think it'd be cool if the Akima Ladies react to FIRST BLOOD, given how that film isn't as ultra-violent as its later sequels, and I could definitely see them rooting for Rambo all the way, and I could see Mom being able to handle it, but not something like Rambo 4 or even Last Blood.

George Bean

At 2:20, when mentions how the Akima Ladies started their reactions with the Revenant, and the video shows Kim all jumpy, running around and even crawling. I love the video, her reactions are so cute and sweet-hearted, very genuine, too. I could see a cartoon video depicting the Ladies' origins and Kim's reactions to Revenant being more cartoony and stuff, and Dawn coming up with recording the reaction, albeit Japanese style with close-ups to her eyes like "Hmm", and Mom sitting nearby with a question mark over her head. That'd be a cute cartoon video. ;D

Adam Vialpando

Hands down ny favorite movie. That line Red says about some birds needing to be free always gets me. And Andy in the rajn is one of the greatest and most satisfying moments ever.

Opti_Frog

When you realise that the 13th amendment, which abolished slavery in the USA, has a loophole for "punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted", which made prison labour possible. Today, prison labour is a billion-dollar industry, and the corporate beneficiaries of this new slavery include some of the largest corporations and most widely known brands. Also, super fun reaction! It's been donkey's years since i saw Shawshank.

Omg finally thank you :D

George Bean

Had found out on July 4 that my Pops (who lives in a retirement home, aged 68 and has COPD) had just caught COVID-19, but it is mild and he's doing okay. Seeing the Akima Ladies react to Shawshank really helped keep my spirits up. Thank you, Dawn/Kim/Mom, you three have always provided hope to those in need. ;D <3

One of my favourite movies! Thanks so much for reacting to it!

First Blood is so darn good, although Rambo: First Blood Part 2 holds a special place in my heart! About the later films being ultra-violent, there's nothing in them that the Storm Akima haven't seen already time and time again in things like Game of Thrones. Btw, I loved Last Blood.

Nice one. He's lucky at that age. Covid presents as just a bad flu but old people can die of the flu, especially if they have underlying cardio pulmonary conditions. Shawshank is a brilliant film.
