I'm waiting on one of my awesome editors (she was impacted by Hurricane Dorian, but still wanted to edit while she waited it out! Thanks so much!!) Anywho, we are really enjoying this trilogy so far! It's a good break from all the trauma we watch, LOL! XD

Wow. I'm pleasantly surprised the BTTF2 reaction came out so early. I was expecting at least another week's wait. I actually was revisiting my DVD set in advance of the reactions, and I thought of a couple things. ... BTTF2: It might not seem like it now, with the way pop culture always builds on what's come before, but when this came out, it really was unheard of for a sequel to so intricately intertwine itself with the events of the first movie. Avengers Endgame obviously took much inspiration from BTTF2. (Right down to a character visiting the past, being hit with a door, and as a result, losing the "McGuffin" he came back to the past for.) I wonder if you watching Endgame before BTTF2, made the cleverness of BTTF2 seem less obvious. ... BTTF 3: Alan Silvestri, who wrote the music score, really went above and beyond here. His music for the trilogy has always been amazing. But here he's given an opportunity to create all new themes (I count at least three) that he incorporates with the themes he's already established. Just the opening credits to BTTF3 hits us immediately with a couple of these new melodies, and it creates an anticipation that the upcoming movie is going to be slightly different than what's come before.

Hurray! Thanks for reminding me how much I love this movie trilogy. What's most amazing, if you look into the behind-the-scenes development of the movies, is how TERRIBLE the movies almost were. It's actually a miracle that they're even decent, much less as amazing as they are. The original concept for the time machine was a REFRIGERATOR. Can you believe that? Then the producers got worried kids might try to lock themselves in refrigerators after seeing the movie so they changed it to a car. The original concepts and scripts (at least for the first 2 movies) were horrendous. And then they even cast Eric Stoltz (???) as Marty and started principal photography for about a week before realizing he was totally wrong for the part and getting Michael J. Fox instead (who almost killed himself with exhaustion by shooting the movie at the SAME TIME he was starring in Family Ties). The Back to the Future trilogy (ditto the original Star Wars trilogy) is a perfect example of how much great filmmaking is dependent on luck and a kind of alchemy where JUST the right people come together at JUST the right time to create something that is so much more than the sum of its parts. LOVE IT. :)

Fantastic. BTTF Part 2 is so out there. The concept of going back into the first movie is so great, it almost avant garde. Thomas F. Wilson really gets to shine (in a kind of insane and unhinged way) as all the weird incarnations of the Biff family. XD

Yay!!! I love this movie so much! I love seeing so many of the best scenes from the first movie being brought back into this second one as they're either expanded on, or seen through another's viewpoint. And I love that Biff once again ran into the same manure truck days later. Brilliant! All of the actors are so good in these movies. From Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd, to Lea Thompson and Crispin Glover as George McFly, who is only in the first movie, aside from clips of him taken from the first movie and brought into the second and third movie too. Interesting and sad fact... Crispin Glover didn't want to return in the second and third movies, so Steven Spielberg and the writers and to improvise and use clips from the first movie, and unused film footage from the first movie in order to fit George McFly into these movies as much as they were able to. Even the actor playing George in the future, wasn't the same actor. Unfortunately, Crispin Glover was angry with Spielberg and everyone else for using his footage in the second and third movies without his permission. It's too bad. Because I really love George McFly and I would have liked to have seen him more than we did. But for as much as we did see of him, I was happy and it was so much fun! Overall... such a good movie in its entirety! Thank you very much! I can't wait for you to react to Back to the Future Three!!!
