I'm still sad about Gambit's death and it is truly heartbroken for fans who love Gambit. Ororo (Storm) was also shocked to see the tragedy news of Genosha that got attacked by Wild Sentinels. In this episode, I'm really happy to see Charles Xavier who is still alive and well. From the original series, he was shot by Henry Gyrich with the energy disruptor rifle and he goes with Lilandra (empress of the Shi'ar Empire). It's actually cool to see Ronan the accuser of the Kree empire from the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie in this X-Men animated series universe. While the Kree are fighting against the Shi'ar empire, Deathbird is teaming up with the Imperial Guard. List of the characters of the Imperial Guard: Gladiator, Flashfire (electric powers), Titan (giant man), Starbolt (fire powers), Manta (wears yellow cape) Smasher (guy with the red T symbol), Warstar (green guy), and Vulcan (guy wearing red suit and makes fire heat powers. Also the rock guy is Earthquake. Vulcan (Gabriel Summers) is the younger brother of Cyclops and Havok. The horses holding the pick axes are called Kymellians. The Adversary is an ancient demon who routinely fought the X-Men. He's a playful, cruel figure who hails from a dimension of endless chaos. He wields his seemingly limitless magical powers to reshape the world to his ineffable whims. The Adversary first appeared in The Uncanny X-Men #188 comic in 1984. The most coolest moment was that Forge is doing magical binding powers like Doctor Strange and his fellow sorcerers of Kamar-Taj in the MCU with its fiery orange color and symbols covered in ancient runes. He did mentioned that he learned magic from his mom, and he has her book. X-Men '97 confirms that Forge's powers are not just scientific as a gifted inventor. He also has his shamanic abilities passed down from his Native American ancestors. The book that Forge used is actually not a Darkhold. It's really great that Storm's power has return and has a new outfit which is a comic accurate costume from the comic cover of Giant-Size X-Men #1 (1975) which is so awesome. At the end of this episode, the man who's running scared is Bolivar Trask (creator of Sentinels), and it seems Mr. Sinister has also return. About the post credits of The Marvels, it could be possible that maybe Monica is in another alternate reality of X-Men animated series universe. If it involves the multiverse, there are so many possibilities. I did mentioned that I still don't think it's the same X-Men animated series universe because Binary is Carol Danver's alter ego and the universe where Monica is that Maria Rambeau is Binary instead of Carol. Carol is Ms. Marvel in X-Men animated series universe when Rogue completely took her powers meaning Maria isn't Binary in X-Men animated series universe. Great reaction and review as always!

Gladiator is very much a Superman pastiche - his real name is "Kallark" - while, the Sh'iar Imperial Guard (ie the original roster) are riffs on DC's Legion of Super-Heroes (a 30th Century team that Superboy had adventures with). Iconic X-Men artist Dave Cockrum had come to Marvel off of LSH and was involved in the co-creation of Storm, Nightcrawler & Colossus - Storm and Nightcrawler's classic looks (as seen here) are based on Cockrum's unused LSH designs. I had kinda hoped following Henry Cavill's departure as Superman, Marvel might've snatched him up, either as Gladiator, or even better... as Marvel's other Superman pastiche, Hyperion, for a Squadron Sinister (Marvel Justice League analogue but criminals) or Squadron Supreme (Marvel Justice League analogue but humanity's self-appointed overlords). The changing roster of the intro is a neat touch, a reminder that team rosters are never static - some members leave for better things, some get the huff, some get twatted by giant robot killing machines - and reminiscent of the corner boxes of old Marvel comics that featured thumbnails of the team members, changing along with the line-up or the artist.
