Discord and Commissions! (Revised) (Patreon)

Discord Announcement

As I'm sure you have all noticed, I have initiated Discord integration with my Patreon. I hope this will open up new avenues for communication between myself and all of you, my lovely supporters! The discord will be limited to Patrons, and anyone Patrons invite. I highly suggest checking out the discord, as it will become the place where I more regularly post updates and interact with the community moving forward.

Commissions Announcement (Revised)

I had a big think about the best way to implement a commission system and I am revising how it will work. If you are interested in a commission, please read these finalized remarks below.

I have also decided to open a Discord server for another reason. Commissions. I have received a number of requests for commission work over the months, but up to now I have been highly resistant to the idea. Patreon is not built to handle commissions, and I am against the idea of running commissions strictly through private messages. If I did commissions, I believe they must be performed transparently, and with standards, so that no one feels short-changed, and so everyone can have confidence that I will deliver the goods. With this in mind, I believe Discord integration offers a simple way for the whole community to have the option to request a commission, and to have that exchange conducted in a candid and equitable way.

Revised Commission System 

I have decided that my original idea for this system was needlessly complicated. Commissions will no longer be a special Patreon tier, instead they will be handled entirely through Discord, and its role system.

Commission requests will be handled entirely through Discord. After becoming a Patron, you will have access to my Discord server, where you can submit a Commission Request. A Commission request is informal, it does not have to be detailed or fully developed idea yet, that can come later, a Commission request merely alerts me to your interest in having a commission made. Simply go to the channel #request-a-commission and @mention me @LutherSlade. I will regularly check this channel for new requests, and I will reach out to you in PMs to negotiate the contract for the Commission.

During the negotiation you will have the opportunity to explain what kind of scene you want me to create for you. You can provide descriptions, and reference images, videos, etc, whatever you think will best represent the end product you desire! I have decided that the negotiation must take place in PMs, despite my initial hesitation, because I realize that Patrons may be uncomfortable in airing these discussions publicly. That being said, in order to ensure transparency, the finalized contracted commission will be announced publicly in a dedicated Discord channel, #commission-log, which will record active and completed commissions, including the Quoted Fee, the Date of Commission, and the Final Date of Full-Refund. I will also offer the opportunity to leave a review of the finished scene to the Commissioning Patron. I hope that this public log will help ensure my credibility.

If a Commission is accepted, the quoted price must be paid upfront, that Patron will retain the Commissioner Discord Role for the period of the development of the Commission. Granting them access to a reserved channel. Once the commission is completed, the completed work will be published to my Patreon like any other scene.

Commissions are an entirely voluntary process. If you are not interested in making a Commission, you may simply ignore this post. Nothing will change for you.
