Hello there $5+ patrons. Thanks so much for choosing to support the podcast with your hard earned money. The response and generosity has blown us away. We're already more than halfway to our first real goal (excluding Matt's quest for money for more beer on the podcast that we eclipsed on the first day and will be drinking and cheering to the next time we record). Our first goal is $500 a month which we would celebrate by recording a video cast of one week's episode and releasing that exclusively to you guys. By the way this is Dave here writing this on my phone so please excuse all spelling mistakes. It's amazing how on the show I'm a fact Nazi* but when it comes to text messages I misspell everything. I just put down reading Arthur Miller's play The Crucible. We did the play for a theatre subject in my final year of high school and I forgot how good it is. I only mention this because a few people have requested the Salem Witch Trials (the subject of the play) be put in the hat. So maybe that will be a future episode. I played the character of Judge Hathorne - a very angry middle aged man that I'm sure 17 year old me absolutely nailed. If we do the report I'll dig out an embarrassing photo of me in stage make up. Read on if you would like to hear about next week's episode subject... Next week Dave reports on 'Vincent Van Gogh's Ear.' The episode starts with Dave's top three ear related incidents of all time and then recounts the extremely depressing but interesting life of Dutch artist Van Gogh, discussing the events leading up to and following the severing of his own ear. The shout outs to all of you on the show will begin the episode after that as we had already recorded it before launching the Patreon. We look forward to reading out and probably completely mispronouncing your names. I guess this is our Patreon newsletter. I didn't plan it being so long, but there you go. I've enjoyed writing it so maybe this will become a new thing. Do Go (patre) On * And in no other ways like a Nazi at all.
