Hellllloooooo friends!

How the bloody hell are you? I hope you're great.

I spent the weekend away with some friends and it was an absolute delight. We played games and sat around fires, ate good food and laughed a lot. I've really been prioritising stuff like going away with friends lately, and it's a lot of fun and good for the soul!

Matt:

"Hey mates, I've got not much to report as per usual! Been watching Atlanta, and loving it!

Watched Mad Max: Fury Road tonight as well, good to see an Australian legend live on (even if if it was starring English and South African actors.

I went to the footy the other night, first time live at a game since pre covid... the Saints played great against one of the premiership favourites, just couldn't finish off the work in front of goals (plus one of our stars went down with a recurring foot injury... doh!)

Everything else is going alright though, working on a plan to do my standup show in Sydney and Brisbane next month before shooting it back in Melbourne, if you're in any of those cities hopefully you can come down (fingers crossed I'll have dates/ticket info in the next few days - but you'll be the first to know!)

 Matt"

Dave:

"Hey Pah-trons!

I spent my weekend in Canberra. Was great to get away but holy shit it was cold. Although I realize many of you reading this experience much colder temperatures, especially in the Northern Hemisphere. So I’ll just saw it was cold for Australia.

Although we did optimistically have an outdoor booking at a winery that we had bravely went though with. Sure I still can’t feel my legs and I don’t really even drink wine, but what a beautiful setting!

Looking forward to putting out Book Cheat this week on Evelyn Waugh’s (He-Velyn) with guests Xavier Michelides and some random called Jess Perkins. I’ve been told she’s the best in the biz, so we’ll find out!

Love yas

Dave"

Hope you're all doing really well! Another fun episode coming for you this week, so keep an eye out for that!

In the new report on Fyre festival, that blink 182 bit about the take off your pants and jacket. I never realized that!! It's been one of my favourite albums since teenage years and I had no idea! So that's for teaching me something new!

Hey book chucks, my favourite book of all time is Stephen kings IT. I don’t know why, I read it when I was 6/7 years old when my dad left it on his coffee table and I asked if I could read it. I remember him saying to me “if it scares you don’t cry to me about it, it’s your own fault”. I didn’t understand a word of the book at the time but i remember just thinking, so is the clown a house?? Because of the book cover art being a house with a face!
