Hello friends!

Well well well..... what a weird time we're in, hey?

Most of you would know by now that on Friday, the Comedy Festival was cancelled.

We're totally in support of that decision, but it's still obviously disappointing for us. We love to do the pod in our home town, and Matt and I were excited to do our solo shows too.

A few of you have very enthusiastically suggested we stream things or do some kind of online live pod - and it's a great idea! But as you can imagine there are logistics in place that make that a little hard. Where possible we're going to avoid even recording the regular podcast at the studio, and we've been discussing options for if we can't be in the same room for the pod.

So I guess I just want to ask you for some patience as we figure out what we will do next. It's so awesome to us that you are keen to help in any way you can. Truly, it blows my mind. But we're ALL in the same boat at the moment, and we all just have to focus on protecting ourselves and our communities.

But it's not just comedy that is affected, of course. And I wanted to check in with you a little bit too, because we're all feeling a bit uneasy, anxious and worried. So let me know how you're doing, and feel free to reach out to me on Instagram or email if you want to chat (not Twitter, I deleted that shit). jessperkinscomedy@gmail.com. I'm here!

But let's keep it kind of light! Let's share some things we can do while we're staying at home as much as possible!

For me, I love lists. So I wrote myself a little list of things I can do, like baking, playing the ukulele, playing some video games,  and deep cleaning the house which I have been putting off for.... well, since I moved it.

What TV series or movies or games do you recommend? Let's share some tips!

Matt is heading home early from Brisbane, and he said "I think prime mates will appropriately be about Outbreak this week... Probably by my self also appropriately!"

Good boy Matt for setting a good example of self isolation!

And Dave wanted to say this: (spoilers for the next episode of Book Cheat... but I don't think you are so I might stop putting them at the bottom because I don't think there's a single person who doesn't read them anyway)

"You can tell the lovely patrons that my next book cheat will be out next week, and will feature Michelle Brasier and Jack Druce and be all about Breakfast At Tiffany’s.

Subsequently I’ve had this song in my head all week:

Aaannnndddd now it will be stuck in yours too.

Be safe and be kind. It's a weird time for us all but if we stick together (not literally,  stay away from people) and have some empathy and kindness, it'll be okay.

Bop x

Also, we will all understand if the podcast needs to take a break because you can't record together. Be safe first, pod second.

I live in Vancouver and things are getting eerily quiet in some parts of the city. Our boy Justin Trudeau will be making a big announcement in about an hour. I've told my mum and dad in Ireland to just not let anyone in the house. They're from the countryside where it's common to have multiple visitors everyday and they're such polite and welcoming people that it'll be a challenge. Stay safe DoGoOn. If you need to postpone some episodes no worry. I'm thinking about taking on a new skill while I'm self isolating and listening to lots of pods.
