Hey Pah-trons!

Dave here, with our fortnightly throw ahead to what I’m reading for Book Cheat.

Sorry this is a bit later than I’d like it to be, but it turned out the book I was reading was one that already been read by my guests. It was a commonly requested classic novel, so I’ll do that on the next episode instead.

So for this week’s Book Cheat I’ve decided to read Norwegian playwright Henrik Ibsen’s classic play - A Doll’s House.

Very influential on other playwrights and theatre itsef, Ibsen is often mentioned in the same breath as other playwrights William Shakespeare and Anton Chekhov as required reading for all drama students.

If you want to read ahead you can find it online. Or, being a drama nerd I have two copies so swing by if you want to borrow one.

What are you reading at the moment?

Speak soon,

Dave

Alexander Dumas books are my favs especially The Three Musketeers. Classic example of the book being better than the visual media with the exception of Dogtanian and The Muskethounds (the only issue being that the seductive femme fatal being a cat in a world of dog people). Great story and characters even though Dumas apparently stole the idea from a real life person.

I'm currently reading Obamas biography. Not the sort of thing you can really do a show on I don't think, but definitely worth the read if you have time.
