Lore: Lucifer (Patreon)

Among the prominent figures of the demonic side, the most famous and also the most important is Lucifer. He's the first fallen angel and the one who started the war between heaven and what would later be called hell, a space of perpetual darkness. To him we also owe the entrance of the supernatural into the earthly plane. Since it was his hosts, commanded by himself, that ripped the veil between the two realities. Later, the angels would follow suit, in reaction to this move.  From that time onwards, a latent war for power has been barely contained between the two forces.

If Lucifer and those closest to him haven't been able to enter the earthly plane, it's because their power, and that of their more powerful kindred, was sealed under countless spells. Despite this, the demon king has never lost his eagerness to break free and finally take his revenge. Even if his cage is still able to keep him at restraint, it's also true that he is sometimes able to break through in other ways, such as appearing in dreams (or nightmares) or in the minds of special individuals.

Characteristics

Far from how he's usually portrayed, Lucifer still possesses a certain divine grace, both outwardly and in his more intrinsic characteristics. He possesses a beauty poisoned by darkness, but a luminous halo that still glows in the midst of the darkest of blackness. Indeed, Lucifer has always possessed a great affinity for light and the purest magic. Fearing for his rebelliousness and his power, he was sent to the darkest place ever designed, the one place from which he couldn't escape. 

During his captivity his character became dark and twisted, fuelled by hatred and revenge, he finds satisfaction only in the destruction, especially of all that is dear to his creator. He often adopts terrible forms, with which he's associated, only to feed terror and mock religious symbols. He's cunning, cruel, but also irascible, impatient and capricious. At times he can be charming and calm, but at others he'll burst into a raging, childish anger for almost no reason.

Dentro de las figuras destacadas de la parte demoníaca, la más famosa y también la más importante es la de Lucifer. Es el primer ángel caído y el que comenzó la guerra entre el cielo y lo que luego sería denominado el infierno, un espacio de oscuridad perpetua. A él también se le debe la entrada de los sobrenaturales en el plano terrenal. Dado que sus huestes, comandadas por él mismo, fueron las que rasgaron el velo entre ambas realidades. Más tarde, los ángeles harían lo propio, como reacción a este movimiento.  Desde entonces una guerra latente por el poder se ha contenido a duras penas entre ambas fuerzas.

Si Lucifer y sus más cercanos no han conseguido entrar en el plano terrenal es porque su poder y de otros de sus congéneres más poderosos, fue sellado bajo sinfines de hechizos. A pesar de esto, el rey demonio nunca ha perdido su afán por liberarse y tomar por fin su venganza. Aún si su jaula aún es capaz de mantenerlo a raya, también es cierto que a veces es capaz de abrirse paso de otras formas, como por ejemplo aparecerse en los sueños (o pesadillas) o en la mente de algunos individuos especiales.

Características

Lejos de cómo suele ser retratado, Lucifer aún posee cierta gracia divina, tanto externamente como en sus características más intrínsecas. Posee una belleza emponzoñada por la oscuridad, pero un halo luminoso que aún destella en mitad de la más oscura de las negruras. Pues Lucifer siempre ha poseído una gran afinidad por la luz y la magia más pura. Temiendo por su rebeldía y su poder, fue enviado al lugar más lúgubre jamás diseñado, el único sitio del que no podría escapar.

Durante su cautiverio su carácter se volvió oscuro y retorcido, alimentado por el odio y la venganza, sólo encuentra satisfacción en la destrucción, especialmente, de todo lo que es amado por su creador. A menudo adopta formas terribles, a las que se le asocia, solo para alimentar el terror y burlarse de los símbolos religiosos. Es astuto, cruel, pero también irascible, impaciente y caprichoso. A veces puede resultar encantador y calmado, pero otras estallará en una cólera rabiosa e infantil casi sin motivo.
