Here's another random illustration in the Bawdy Falls style, this time with a threesome to include Pacifica with Dipper and Mabel.

I'm not going to be doing backgrounds while messing with style stuff as it'll just take time away from what I'm trying to focus on. This time I wanted to do Pacifica from the front so that I could tinker with how the style would work with her, but I also wanted a back view of someone, so I went with these poses. As I expected it didn't work using just the approach I used with Dipper and Mabel, but it only required me to adjust some opacity bit as Pacifica has lighter tones overall. I'd say it still worked out fine, so this is probably the look I'll be going with for the next scene of Bawdy Falls.

Seems like Pacifica likes Dipper x Mabel as much as I do

It turned out interesting. You definitely need to continue to work on with this style.

I saw this comment in a notification email, and thought that maybe their email system censored the comment due to terms used. You totally deceived me.

Yeah, I definitely plan to keep working on it. Trying to get a style going that's as efficient as possible.

Excited to see the next installment . Have enjoyed the flat colors just fine but the shading does help it pop without being overused. Line work is looking solid as always and I still think your renditions of these characters are my favorite version by far.

I've always liked those three ones, Pacifica is such a Tsundere, and the style you're using here give them a good texture the only thing I find is that Mabel hair seem more "flat" than Pacifica or D ipper.

Thanks, the extra pop is exactly what I'm looking for. I personally don't mind flats, and in some styles find it offers just as much as adding extra shading, but I've been working on adding just that little bit more.

The hair is a tricky issue, because it'll have to look differently depending on angle. For example, from behind I'd likely only have a small amount of shadow at the bottom of the hair, same with a complete side view, but from the front the shadows help in pulling the figure in front of it, thus adding the appearance of depth with very little effort. When looking at the character from behind, however, depth would imply that the hair is in front and that the figure is behind, which would instead result in a cast shadow on the figure and not on the hair.
