It's close to a new year, and after the first year modeling I've learned new things - as an artist, as a woman, and as a nude model. I've learned that, while I love to create art, I find there are nuances to telling what sort of a creative endeavor someone has in mind. That not all so-called creative endeavors are, in fact, creative. That there are a fair amount of misconceptions about the art I'm involved in. That many people claiming to create art are really more interested in seeing my unclothed body. That the last part, even as a nude model, is incredibly disconcerting and upsetting. As an artist, I've realized I've found a life where I can pursue the things I'd like. I'd like to start painting again and doing more complicated sets for my photos. I'll be getting a new camera soon (buying Diana Schenkel's camera actually). I've realized I have the ability to use my free time how I'd like. This is a wonderful aspect of my career...I can always make time for my own art in addition to creating with others. As a woman I've learned good things and bad...It's possible for me to be taken advantage of but I also have better learned how to stand up for myself. I have much stronger bonds and friendships with other women than I've ever had before. There is a network of wonderful people I've become a part of. I spent the past week working in Columbus before traveling home to see my family for a short time. I'll have a few weeks off after this to plan out future trips, make art, photograph a few models, and relax a bit - cuddling with my fur babes is a top priority. I'd be interested in knowing what you'd be interested in hearing about in journal entries. If you have any questions feel free to ask below/send me a message - I'd love to do some entries that are more interesting for you :) I hope you all are having a wonderful holiday or whatever you've decided to do (currently wanting to watch Christmas movies and eat takeout myself).
